@elinadoff@isaacson I have had some major issues with things Ben has said recently. For example see ep 2482 17:03 mark. Direct quote -
"I actually tend to be more Catholic than Jewish on this issue because..."
To me, that statement is extremely problematic regardless of what follows.
@breslovchosid Even so I'm still not sure. There's a real peace of mind knowing your belongings are with you and not left to the predations of the baggage system.
@newjerseyjew@shlomokatz With all due respect where are you getting your information from?
There are millions of people here in Israel that are not rich but are making a reasonable income. It is eminently possible.
@yoavkaufman@skjask Well I can't argue with that. It is indeed very cold. The year I was there (2023) we were told by one of the locals that it was the coldest winter in 100 years! But we still had a great time.
@HilzFuld I thought you had a OnePlus phone? I remember you posted about the OnePlus 13 I believe when it came out and how they really went above and beyond with its features.
@yoavkaufman@skjask Disagree. I went in January a few years ago and it was absolutely majestic. It's not for everyone but if you're layered properly and go with the right expectations it will be amazing.
@JakeTurx That's not the full picture though. The Haredi public does not overall see fighting in the army as a true Jewish value. And so long as that is the case they don't feel the necessity of making changes in the army so that it will be more suitable for them.
@JakeTurx@yoavkaufman The problem is it's a bit of a chicken/egg situation. We 100% need some major bureaucratic changes here in Israel but that can only happen from within and for that to happen we need those 1.5m American Jewish voices to participate in our elections...
@HilzFuld There's a reason tweets used to be limited to 140/280 characters. People just aren't going to read massive long form posts in their entirety.
