"I actually tend to be more Catholic than Jewish on this issue because..."

To me, that statement is extremely problematic regardless of what follows.

@JakeTurx That's not the full picture though. The Haredi public does not overall see fighting in the army as a true Jewish value. And so long as that is the case they don't feel the necessity of making changes in the army so that it will be more suitable for them.

@JakeTurx @yoavkaufman The problem is it's a bit of a chicken/egg situation. We 100% need some major bureaucratic changes here in Israel but that can only happen from within and for that to happen we need those 1.5m American Jewish voices to participate in our elections...
