Good morning new robbery in town, witnessed it last night near Yaya center, this guys come as pedestrians crossing the road as soon as the lights turn green, one guy in front pretends to have been knocked down and as you come out to check, there is another one trying to open your car from behind to get in, lucky the guy behind us saw them and came out shouting mwizi and hit him with a rungu, that's how the other one who was knocked down stood up to run but he was picked up by people, I don't know what happened to him, left him in the hands of mob justice, hope he got some good justice.
Finance Bill 2026 makes for an interesting & fairly technical read both from a tax policy & administration standpoint.
A 🧵 on the 11 things that stand out from what we are seeing so far for me.
Just a reminder: MPESA is the most expensive payment platform in the universe. That's why it hasn't been accepted anywhere on this space rock except Kenya.

Before dating any woman,
I asked my mom what I should look for in a woman.
I thought she would say:
Low body count
No guy friends
Don’t go to clubs
But instead she said this:
It’s frustrating to see how quickly minor symptoms like a simple cold can spiral into an expensive ordeal in some private hospitals. A simple consultation turns into a full hemogram then a cascade of add ons LFTs, RFTs, CRP, ESR, thyroid panels, even imaging with little clinical indication.
Next thing, you’re handed a prescription packed with extras vitamins, PPIs, “immune boosters,” even a random gluconate medication and suddenly the bill crosses 10K for what should have been basic symptomatic care.
We need to get back to patient centered practice, where clinical judgment guides care and investigations or medications are used only when truly necessary not as a way to inflate invoices.

I have kids. I work in AI every day. And honestly? I have no idea what their careers will look like in 15 years. But I know what will carry them through.
First, and this might sound unromantic: make money and save it for them. We can debate educational philosophy all day, but the world is changing so fast that financial security might be the most practical gift we can give. Buy some gold bars. Seriously.
Second, nurture their imagination. AI rewards people with initiative and wild ideas. The kid who daydreams, who asks weird questions, who wants to try ten things at once? That kid will thrive. AI can execute. AI can be disciplined. What AI can't do is dream up something nobody's thought of before.
Third, build resilience. There are no more iron rice bowls (guaranteed lifetime jobs). Any stable, predictable job is exactly the kind of job AI will learn to replace. Our kids will likely switch directions many times in their lives. Learn something new, get replaced, pivot, repeat. It's more like being a hunter than a farmer. Schools don't teach this. Schools teach you to follow a linear path: high school, college, grad school, stable job. That linear path is becoming the most dangerous one.
Last, invest in their ability to connect with other humans. Not networking. Not schmoozing. Real emotional connection. Building trust, offering support, making people feel seen. As AI handles more of the rational, analytical work, the human ability to genuinely relate to other humans becomes more rare and more valuable.
I don't have all the answers. But I know that imagination, resilience, and genuine human warmth aren't going out of style anytime soon.

This is called a HAEMODIALYSIS CATHETER.
It is for patients undergoing dialysis.
It is inserted into a patient's chest through the internal jugular vein.
The red port cannula is the arterial lumen that draws deoxygenated blood out of the patient's body and sends it to the dialysis machine for cleaning.
The blue cannula is the venous lumen that carries cleaned, filtered blood from the dialysis machine back into the patient's bloodstream.
This catheter stays in a patient's body for 6 - 12 weeks, or even longer, depending on medical decisions, before being replaced with a permanent fistula.
A healthy kidney filters your blood 400 times per day, while a dialysis machine does so only 2 times a week, for about 5 hours per session.
Dialysis patients have to arrive at the renal unit as early as 3 am, twice a week.
Not even a dialysis machine can replace the efficiency of a healthy kidney.
Therefore, take care of your kidneys.

The actual research is wild. Every time you push down a feeling, your brain has to choose between suppressing that emotion and recording what’s happening around you. It picks the suppression. The memory doesn’t get saved.
A 2000 Stanford study confirmed this: people told to hide their emotions while watching a film remembered far fewer details than people who just reacted naturally. Suppressing emotions uses up mental energy, and that leaves less brain power for saving new memories.
Brain scans show why. A 2012 study found that suppression quiets the hippocampus (your brain’s memory-recording center) right when it should be saving information. The two brain regions that normally team up to lock in memories stop talking to each other.
Over time it gets worse. Suppression keeps cortisol (the stress hormone) elevated, and cortisol shrinks the hippocampus. Chronically stressed people can lose 10 to 15% of its volume. Just three weeks of high cortisol can shrink the tiny connection points between brain cells by about 20%. The good news: studies show this shrinkage can partially reverse once stress levels drop. Not necessarily permanent.
A Finnish study of 1,137 older adults tracked over roughly a decade found that habitual emotion suppressors had nearly 5x the risk of developing dementia, even after controlling for genetics, smoking, obesity, and education.
There’s a better way to handle emotions that doesn’t cost you your memory. It’s called cognitive reappraisal: instead of bottling the feeling, you reframe what’s causing it. (“This meeting isn’t a threat, it’s practice.”) A 2003 Stanford/UC Berkeley study found reappraisers had more positive emotion, better relationships, and higher wellbeing. Suppressors got the opposite on every measure. And reappraisal carries zero memory cost.
The difference comes down to timing. Suppression kicks in after the emotion has already fired, so your brain is fighting its own response while simultaneously trying to record the moment. Reappraisal changes how you interpret the situation before the emotion fully activates. Same event, same person, but your hippocampus stays free to do its actual job: recording your life.
With the heavy rains currently being experienced, if you find that your car has been flooded, DON'T attempt to start the engine.
This is because water may have entered the engine through the air intake and reached the combustion chamber.
Unlike fuel, which enters the chamber as a fine mist and can be compressed during combustion, water is a liquid and can't be compressed.
If the engine is started in this condition, it can cause hydrolock (water knock), which may result in severe internal engine damage.
If your car has been flooded, it is best to have it inspected and properly dried before attempting to start it.
It has always been our goal to share with you helpful tips as far as car care tips are concerned. Thats why we have a WhatsApp channel which you can subscribe to for free and get helpful tips every now and then.

Modern women obsession with "soft life" and "princess treatment" has made a whole generation of women completely blind to the brutal reality of what it actually takes for a man to provide that.
You are demanding a man be endlessly romantic, available 24/7, and constantly planning aesthetic dates, while he is literally in the trenches fighting a ruthless economy to build the very empire you want to rest in.
You cannot demand the spoils of war and then complain that the soldier is too tired to entertain you when he finally gets home. We want the absolute financial security of a conqueror, but we expect him to have the carefree personality and infinite free time of a golden retriever. A man cannot simultaneously be at peace and at war. If he is building your fortress, you have to give him the grace to be exhausted
Mwananchi ajitolee, aamke 5am, akae kwa jam mpaka afike job 7:30am. Then apige 8-5 yake. Alipe 30% tax. Alafu bado aswim akienda home while fighting for his life.
Aren't we angry enough Kenyans?
Understanding How Tax Works for Influencers & Freelancers in Kenya.
Let’s break this down using a hypothetical scenario.
You land a gig worth Ksh. 100,000.
The company pays you 95,000 and withholds 5,000 as tax.
Many people think that 5,000 is the final tax. It is NOT.
That 5,000 is a Withholding Tax ; which simply means tax paid in advance on your behalf.
What this means in practice:
• The tax authority already knows you earned 100,000 • The company remits the 5,000 withholding tax • Upon remitting the 5,000 , a withholding certificate is issued . • That certificate links the income to your PIN
When filing your taxes, the system already expects you to declare the 100,000 income.
With the current validation rules, you cannot declare less than what has been reported.
Here’s the important part most people miss 👇
-You are not taxed on the 100,000 unless you have zero expense
-You are taxed on NET PROFIT.
Net Profit = Income – Expenses
Example:
Income from gig: 100,000
Possible expenses: • Capital allowance on Equipment (camera, lighting, microphone)- most people have zero clue on this 😎 • Internet costs • Transport for the shoot • Editing software subscriptions • Studio hire • Assistant payments
Assume total valid expenses = 40,000
Your taxable profit will be 60,000, not 100,000.
The 5,000 withholding tax you already paid is then credited against your final tax liability.
Important to note going forward (especially from this year 2026)
-Expenses must be properly supported, ideally through eTIMS compliant receipts/invoices.
-If your influencer or freelance business is: • unstructured • cash-based • poorly documented,
Reconstructing expenses at the end of the year will not work
This is one of the main reasons why influencers & freelancers must treat their brand like a real business.
-Track your income -Record your expenses -Keep invoices and receipts -Use proper documentation
Otherwise, you risk paying tax on income that was actually spent running your business.
The earlier you structure your business model for Tax planning , the better
