TESTED: Windows 11's upcoming "Low Latency Profile" mode brings genuine performance improvements to the OS, speeding up flyout and app launches significantly.

We've benchmarked opening some apps on video with the Low Latency Profile enabled and disabled, and you can see differences in how quickly things appear. For some things, it's a fraction of a second faster, for others, it's a significant increase in speed.

Most people who think their Windows 11 PC is “already optimized” are still leaving real performance on the table in 2026.

**Note:** This tweak is most relevant for Windows 11 24H2 and newer. On Windows 10, simply disabling Memory Integrity in Settings is usually enough (the registry key is optional).

Here’s why:

Windows 11 24H2 quietly changed how Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) works.
Simply turning off Memory Integrity in Settings no longer fully disables it for most users. VBS can keep running in the background adding a small but measurable performance tax, especially in CPU heavy games.

Real world results (verified across recent testing):
- 2–10% average FPS improvement in most titles
- Noticeably smoother 1% lows and fewer frametime spikes
- Best gains in crowded lobbies, large maps, and busy fights

Step 1 Check if VBS is still running right now:
1. Press Win + R → type msinfo32 → Enter
2. Look for “Virtualization-based security” in System Summary
→ If it says “Running” → you’re still paying the tax

Step 2 – Fully disable it (the 24H2 fix):
1. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Windows Security → Device Security → Core Isolation
2. Turn **Memory Integrity** OFF → Reboot
3. Press Win + R → type `regedit` → Enter
4. Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard
5. Right-click → New → DWORD (32-bit) Value
Name it exactly: EnableVirtualizationBasedSecurity
6. Double-click it → set Value data to 0 (Hexadecimal) → OK
7. Reboot again

Step 3 – Confirm it worked:
Run `msinfo32` again — “Virtualization-based security” should now say “Not enabled”
✅ Safe for: Warzone, Black Ops 7, Fortnite, Apex Legends, CS2, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals & most other titles.

⚠️ Do NOT disable if you play Valorant or League of Legends (Vanguard requires it), or if you play CS2 on FACEIT above ~3,000 Elo.

This is a pure OS level change. Works on any CPU/GPU. Fully reversible in 30 seconds (set the registry value back to 1 + turn Memory Integrity ON + reboot).

Security note: This disables a kernel-level protection. Fine for a dedicated gaming PC, but re-enable it anytime if needed.
