@yourHJEN @STMThomasK7 #hld2018 this is a prime example of modification for solitary confinement. This women was clearly mentally ill and shouldn’t have been placed in there. Being deprived of basic cell items is morally wrong. All prisoners must have access to these things.

@STMThomasK7 #hld2018 it’s important to look at the reason behind it. Many of the suicides could’ve been due to other reasons but the point here, is that solitary confinement is a reason behind many prison suicides, and that would’ve been preventable.

@STMThomasK7 We’re all humans, we can listen and understand. Anger can come and go, if the person is not calming down through talking, then make the place safe for them. Like when child throw tantrums, you clear te space till the phase is over. Move others away, not the person that is angry.

@STMThomasK7 It’s like when one is told you can’t hide from your problems, just like that, you can’t block a person away because you can’t handle them. The problem didn’t go away, in fact, it made it worse.

@STMThomasK7 I’d also like to add that article 20 can also apply as it does state the right to peaceful assembly and association. You may say that the person hold threat because they are violent so it’s necessary to lock them away. My answer is that there’s a better way to calm them.
