@Timodc Kinda crazy he got more votes than Bernie did during the presidential primary. Between this and the huge disparity in votes for the gov primary races Dem enthusiasm looks good going into November.
@hutchinson To be fair, basically every pollster got it wrong. This was one of the most expensive Senate primaries of all time, and totally lopsided. Thinking that wasn't going to be a major hurdle was foolhardy, and so is trying to pretend winning in spite of that isn't a massive triumph.
@davidslosttt Very unlikely. Todd was the rep for my district in the statehouse before running for Senate. I've had a few conversations with him. He's a great fit for Idaho, but it's a massive uphill battle. We'll see what we're able to do in this race though. I plan on volunteering.
@HaleyforMI I'm not sure this is the best way to close out your campaign. Please try to lose with some modicum of grace. We're all going to have to lock in to win back control of the senate in November.
@davidaxelrod You're deliberately misrepresenting the DSA platform and you know it. Even then, candidates are not running on the national DSA platform. If anything, being seen as aligned with the DSA is a potential lifeline for a party who's brand is in tatters afters decade of mismanagement.
@electionsjoe Todd is a great candidate for Idaho. He was the rep for my district before running for Senate. Roth dropping out was the right choice. I will be volunteering for his campaign.
@ctr477@AdamKinzinger Not an accurate read on what happened, nor does it absolve the broader leadership of their failures to turn people out. Most of the left flank understood that beating Trump was important, especially highly engaged voters, but low enthusiasm was a problem.
@electionsjoe I grew up in NW MT. While the state has gotten more red over the last 10 years, I think Sam has a real shot. He's basically the best possible candidate you could ask for for this seat. He's my age and reminds me a lot of many of the people I grew up with.
@magi_jay He's clearly talking about Fetterman here, but beyond that, this is the same playbook the establishment always tries to run against the left. It's deeply cynical and gross and people aren't buying it anymore.
@AnnieAndrewsMD The right sees no difference between you and the DSA. To them, all of us are communists. You gain nothing by taking pot shots at your left flank. Maybe focus on your own Senate race instead of attacking the DSA, we're all in this fight together.
