No sane Pakistani would have supported the deportation of 2-3 million Afghans had the Taliban (Afghanistan), taken a different path post-2021.

They could have chosen peace, prosperity and cooperation over keeping their ideological bond with the TTP intact, but they did what most post-insurgency governments are forced to do, and Pakistan was in turn forced to send 2-3 million back, as no country can afford to have 2 million citizens of an enemy country (whose sole battlefield advantage is unconventional war) inside its cities.

This is about a general refugee population, not students. A few hundred students could have easily been kept under close watch instead of sending them back mid-degree.

I'll be honest, reading was supposed to be a status symbol for all times. It was a mass privilege until late stage industrial age.
Now in the age of algorithms, tiktoks, 160 character opinions, and AI slop, literacy and comprehension levels and returning to their prev. levels

I think "most" and "deep" is a stretch, but I think the point can be made. A solid number of people in STEM could have a conversation about philosophy or art with some mild proficiency while maybe 1% of students in the humanities could evaluate an integral.
