@howertonjosh All your examples have nothing to do with critical race theory, which is a legal philosophy. Also, citing the worst expressions of anything doesn’t mean it’s wrong at its core (eg is greedy businesses proof capitalism is evil?)
@jaredhmoore But who is the audience for the endless LGBTQ messages pastors need to preach? Few in these churches/pews are LGBTQ (they wouldn’t dare attend such a church) so how are these sermons supposedly making any difference, beyond filling church goers with angst?
@D_B_Harrison It is a theological/sin issue - sadly and ironically justified with Scripture by some, in the history of the church. Have you pointed out racism when blacks are on the receiving end? Your posts have leaned towards colourblindness so wondering why you note racism in this case?
@TomBuck Luke 9:46-48. The disciples debating who was the greatest. Jesus said Kingdom people don’t try to be at the top but evangelical men today are fighting for the top rank over women. Jesus would give the same response to you as he did in this scripture.
@TerriGreenUSA What is the sin here? A bit of fun in church? Using drama and storytelling? Which church does not use humor and storytelling sometimes? How can anyone critique this without seeing how it fit into the whole service and message?
@NiaPere98304469@cynthialspell@D_B_Harrison So? You are missing the point: why are descendants of slaves being told today they have “freedom” to return to Africa when their ancestors were never given the “freedom” to return to their homeland? The answer lies in whether or not they can be freely exploited.
@cynthialspell@D_B_Harrison Isn’t it interesting that while blacks could be enslaved, they were given no “freedom” to go back to Africa but after America has been built on their backs and they can’t be enslaved anymore, they have “freedom” to go back to Africa.
@srhorton_sr@D_B_Harrison Isn’t it interesting that while blacks could be enslaved, they were given no “freedom” to go back to Africa but after America has been built on their backs and they can’t be enslaved anymore, they have “freedom” to go back to Africa.
@D_B_Harrison Your argument is equivalent to blaming the pimp for selling the girls while letting the customer who pays to keep the business going and benefits from the supply of prostitutes go scot free. This logic, especially from a Christian, is immoral, absurd and intellectually blind.
@TeaManTom @DearChristianPC @williamwolfe@PerfInjust@AmReformer This is a misinterpretation of Scripture. Love them as yourself applied here suggests if you won’t kick yourself out (because you love yourself), then you should love the alien in the same way and not throw him out. What you propose is not the Jesus way.
@D_B_Harrison As a Christian I am surprised that a faith that bases its entire theology on forgiveness is so anti-forgiveness. Is ideology overriding theology? When God forgives my sin towards my brother, it may seem unfair to my brother who wants me to pay for my wrongs.
@travismcneely@pastordmack Most American evangelicals preach or believe in a “prosperity gospel”. Even those who blame others for this believe in the prosperity gospel of Christian capitalism: God wants to give America economic blessings and will do so if we follow a certain biblical formula.
@WalkerMTalker @Streetsdisple@bookkeepPLUS@grcastleberry I hope you’re equally concerned about the ungodly “pride” Donald Trump displays everyday with his flagrant egoism and self-centerdness and shameless self promotion ?Or is that not pride as defined by the Bible ?
@FeetForThoughts @onesparkfire @JosiahHawthorne Many evangelical churches are “affirming” of idolatry and the sins of pride, lying towards others, lack of compassion and unwillingness to ever forgive, in their support of Donald Trump. Yes?
