New paper!!
Very happy to share this work published in @CurrentBiology in collaboration with @BryanMateus12, @cdanielcadena and Camila Gómez (@selvaorgco). Available here: https://t.co/tyhyd4H3db We report changes in bird migration phenology exclusively from the wintering grounds
Our article about the adaptive radiation and social evolution of the ants is now out in Cell!
We analyze 163 ant genomes to explore the evolution of these amazing social insects 🐜

Very proud of my student, Brooke Hagans, who presented her research at the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference! She is studying how social status influences social connectivity and interactions in Lance-tailed Manakins in the DuVal lab @EmilyHDuVal
New paper? Stay tuned!

Underrepresented minority faculty in the USA get 7% more negative votes and 44% fewer unanimous votes during tenure and promotion cases 😓. And it’s worse for URM women. But this can be mitigated by strong reference letters - let’s write strong letters 🙌🏽 https://t.co/YThc39OhX3
Excited to share that my first dissertation chapter has been published in Biology Letters!

Cool #cienciacriolla coming from undergraduate-led research and amazing advising by Camila Gómez (@selvaorgco) and @cdanielcadena. And the first of many research results of the Colombia 🇨🇴 Resurvey 🐦⬛🦜🙌🏽!
based on data from the non-breeding grounds gathered from museum specimens and community-science records, we report substantial changes in the migration phenology of birds. the effort was led by two undergrads who worked on it in their spare time! https://t.co/Xlua3Ly3w2
Our work highlights the need to study bird migration ecology from the non-breeding to have a better understanding of their annual cycle and, ultimately, how they respond to climate change and other pressures.
