Happy Birthday to General Abdulsalami Abubakar.
As a young boy, I vividly remember the optimism Nigerians felt when he assumed office. At a critical moment in our history, he kept his word - released political prisoners, guided the country through a peaceful transition, and handed over power to a democratically elected government.
His actions helped restore faith in Nigeria’s democratic future and remain one of the finest examples of leadership and patriotism in our history.
A true statesman. Happy Birthday, Sir. 🇳🇬
@markokoyeII and I were colleagues back in the day for many years. He is an outstanding, upright and remarkable individual with an impeccable integrity.
#ICYMI: These are parts of that hearing yesterday that will no be allowed to come out.
The indication by the MD of @SEDCgov that they have been summoned to 5 hearings in less than a year appears to have been a trigger.
Overnight, Nigeria and the United States recorded a significant example of effective collaboration in the fight against terrorism.
Our determined Nigerian Armed Forces, working closely with the Armed Forces of the United States, conducted a daring joint operation that dealt a heavy blow to the ranks of the Islamic State.
Early assessments confirm the elimination of the wanted IS senior leader, Abu-Bilal Al-Manuki, also known as Abu-Mainok, along with several of his lieutenants, during a strike on his compound in the Lake Chad Basin
Nigeria appreciates this partnership with the United States in advancing our shared security objectives. I extend my sincere gratitude to President Trump for his leadership and unwavering support in this effort.
I commend the personnel involved on both sides for their professionalism and courage, and I look forward to more decisive strikes against all terrorist enclaves across the nation.

@FinMinNigeria In few engagements I’ve had with Mr Wale Edun, one thing stood out: clarity of thought and a firm grasp of the fiscal realities facing Nigeria. With @taiwoyedele stepping forward, there is real cause for optimism. The stakes are high, and many of us are rooting for his success.
Growing up on the outskirts of Akure between 1997 and 1999, we lived without electricity. I still remember the day a transformer was finally brought to reconnect our community to the grid - the joy across the town was unforgettable. The excitement was indescribable. Watching this today brings back those powerful memories.
