On the @AutSchoolStaff Project we are now looking at parental attitudes towards autistic teachers.

First 4 studies on parenting, second 6 on schooling. Strap in, some of these findings are wild…
As one of the pupils in these pictures I can assure you we are very much real. Real people attending a real school receiving a great education. I think we should really be questioning why you have such an interest in the length of my skirt?

I'm 52.
I'm putting together a 4 part series on what it's like to be 60.
I'm going to only consult with people under 40 who are professionals on ageing.
This all seems good. Yes?
Oh, if you're 60 you can't come to my series.
You wouldn't get it.
This is a tweet about Autism
For something I’m writing:

Teachers, parents, current pupils, former pupils, anyone on earth welcome to reply
I’m not going to respond to replies unless I need to clarify a point
Please retweet for a wider sample of responses & no fighting! 😬
Tonight was the first meeting of our group for people who want to start autistic peer support or social groups in their area. It was great to meet folk from around the country. There is still space for more members, contact [email protected] if interested
@Catheri21917853 Thank you, this is great advice! I’m training in primary so I’m anticipating that there’ll probably be a lot of sensory stuff going on but I’m hopeful that having that experience will help me to support some of the kids in the class who find that overwhelming sometimes too 🤞
Today was my first day in school as a trainee teacher and I’m already exhausted before the kids have even started! If anyone has any tips on starting out and avoiding becoming too overwhelmed I would love to hear them 😅🤞
