Unbelievably excited to announce that I received an @nhmrc Investigator Grant & @heartfoundation fellowship this round 🥳
This funding wouldn’t be possible without the food policy team @georgeinstitute, nutr & pub health allies & mentors.
Look forward to sharing more in 2024!
Great to have the chance to help bust myths on longevity with Melissa Davey in The Guardian's new Antiviral column!
@BruceNeal1 and @daisyhcoyle explain what really makes the difference for living a long and healthy life.

Great to be quoted in this piece by Jenny Gold along with other experts on the growing issue of pouches in the United States.
Similar issues exist here in Australia and elsewhere.
Many parents rely on baby food pouches as an easy option on the go. But experts worry that relying on them too much can cause problems. https://t.co/w7RLcpowhI
Great to see so much media interest in our analysis of baby foods on the US market. Thanks @LaMotteSandee for covering this story for @CNN!

A different way to start my Saturday morning.
It's always a bit nerve-wracking to be on live TV, but I was grateful to join ABC Weekend News Breakfast to discuss our latest infant and toddler food research and the need for stronger gov regulation of these foods.
While this action is very welcome, there is a lot to tackle here. A range of reg and non-reg actions proposed. We need to get it right.
If you are interested in submitting to the consultation but don't know where to start, please get in touch.
The quality of infant and toddler food stocked in Australian supermarkets leaves much to be desired. In fact, new research reveals none of these products meet @WHO standards. This is incredibly alarming and the AMA calls for urgent action. @FHAllianceAU https://t.co/M92Zjq9oKD
Great to be part of the discussion on baby and toddler foods with @daisyhcoyle today.
Government regulation is a must to protect against unhealthy products & misleading marketing.

A great summary of the key issues in The Guardian. Thanks, Natasha May, for this write-up, which has kick-started important conversations nationally.

But there is hope - the first consultation is underway thanks to food ministers. A range of regulatory and non-regulatory actions are being proposed for these foods - and we need to get the priorities right.
It has been a busy media day over here at TGI with the release of this paper.
Sadly, it's not much of a good news story, with 78% of products failing to meet nutrition requirements and none meeting WHO promotional standards.
Commercial foods for infants and toddlers fail to meet WHO requirements for nutrition, yet they can display health and nutrition claims on-pack. We must change this.
Great new paper by Elizabeth Dunford, Maree Scully & @daisyhcoyle@georgeinstitute

Thanks for having me @teegstar.
And thank for shifting the dial on conversations around potential policies to reduce harmful UPF intake here in Australia.
How can we curb the harmful effects of ultra-processed foods to prevent chronic disease?

Our latest research on the alignment between Australian Dietary Guidelines and NOVA food classification for level of processing in packaged foods, found high synergy between the two systems, with 70% of products in agreement.
