The past nine months have been like earning a masters degree in mass retail – intense, challenging, and absolutely invaluable.
I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.

For sure it is. If you’re still a small team > 3 going to these retail trade shows to build into specialty shops is what shows your commitment to the culture of an industry. The longer you show up the more concrete your brand and reputation becomes. Many brands just graduate into expensive 20x20 booth spaces too fast and wonder why retail is worth it.
