@VangelisVoulga1 @jinnieshinnie @wesstreeting I think this is a fair point but the UK used to have its doctors working much longer hours and the training wasn't really any shorter just less structured. Foundation is one of the bigger reasons I see it being longer as well and some excessive training..example, imt for derm

Most people have no idea how bad the UK doctor training system really is.
It demands double the training time of other countries, pays doctors less at every stage, and then often keeps them “junior” even after they finish all their training.

@danfurmedge Similar close friend finished med school in the UK i believe last June and began EM residency in July. So far has been doing arterial lines. Intubating adults and children, LP's and chest drain and is ICU overnight. Different level of training. Will be done in 3 years.
