Guess what?
The American people do not want the United States to act as a predator toward Canada.
The American people do not want to make it easier for Russia to kill Ukrainians.
The American people do not want to insult NATO allies who have fought and bled with us.
American Christians win a political victory. As a result, children lose access to food. AIDS patients lose access to medicine. Migrants are mistreated. Allies are abandoned. Dictators overjoyed.
My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
So let’s say we concede the idea that there is only one candidate that Jesus endorses…
If a fellow believer is mistakingly endorsing the “wrong” candidate - maybe they lack discernment - maybe they’ve been lied to - maybe they are uninformed, etc
HAS CHRIST STILL DIED FOR THEM?
Does the blood of Jesus lack the efficacy to mature them later in this life or glorify them in the next?
If you believe the gospel-
Christ will NOT reject them on the bases of THAT error - so 👏🏾 why 👏🏾do 👏🏾 you?
Why do you slander, socially martyr, troll and cancel people Christ has chosen as His bride?
Salvation is “grace through faith,” not of votes, so that no man, party or candidate can boast!
THE RED BOOK EP drops Sunday at midnight!

It will forever baffle me at how someone could see how Jesus laid down his life out of love for the world rather than forcing it to conform to his will, then somehow conclude that political and theological authoritarianism is how his followers should represent him in the world.
If your Christianity causes you to demand that our nation legislate your values, but those values oppose legislation that would ensure all people have food, clean water, shelter, healthcare, and a fair wage, then you can’t get upset when our culture rejects your Christianity.
Dear Evangelical Christians.
We are in a position where Donald Trump is the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party again because YOU placed him there.
In states like Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada, etc. during primary season, your discipleship of your congregations led to your congregants picking Donald Trump over every other GOP candidate. Your lack of addressing political and economic idolatry from the pulpits and in your programming led to us being in a position where a man who knows how to get what he wants and incited a riot on the US Capitol leading to death, a wave of anti-Asian racism and violence and death, anti-immigrant sentiment - especially against Mexicans (and anyone who is incorrectly labeled as a Mexican), the Chinese (and anyone incorrectly labeled as Chinese), and other ethnicities that aren’t Western European, and a talks flippantly about assaulting women, is about to become the president.
The people that say they are a purple church or speak against political idolatry should poll their churches to see how many of them voted for Donald Trump in the primaries. I’d love to see if their churches actually voted for another Republican or Democratic candidate.
Many will now say that you will hold your noses when voting for Trump because he is the “lesser of two evils” or that you are voting for him because of his “policies, not his character or person”, but the reality is, you had many other choices including @NikkiHaley@SenatorTimScott, @ChrisChristie, @RonDeSantis, and former VP Mike Pence among others (some of whom started behaving and talking like Trump because that was what was winning elections - which is such a sad thing to see people compromise in such a way). But you didn’t choose any of them. In greater numbers than in 2016, you chose Donald Trump.
Evangelical pastors need to think about what their negligence in discipleship that includes addressing how Christians are called to be in the world but not of it and care about the morality and character of their leaders by“just preaching the gospel” that does not touch the deformation done by the religious right movement, has done to the public witness of the church.
The Democratic Party has many problems including their own fundamentalism that holds to positions that are not compatible with Christianity, but they don’t pretend to do it in the name of Jesus - that is reserved for the Republican Party.
Writing as an evangelical who is tired of the political idolatry and would not wish for others to be a part of this dumpster fire that we have created because of our omissive discipleship.
Dear Christian,
If your preferred news source stokes your fear, anger, and hatred towards others rather than inspiring you to want to learn more, empathize, and understand others better, then it is leading you in the opposite direction from the love of Jesus.
The tragic irony of our time in the United States:
Authoritarians convincing Christians of the false narrative that we are being persecuted for our faith so that we will support them so that they can go onto use Christianity to actually persecute others.
We must resist this.
