Engineer in power systems, electronics&s/ware. Truth does not take sides; I side with truth. I love God! and care about the world we're making for our children.
My 3-year-old doesn't know jobs have ranks.
Nobody's told him yet. So he treats everyone like they're famous.
The garbage truck guys are celebrities at our house. He waits at the window every pickup day and waves with his whole arm. They honk for him now. Both of them. He talks about it for hours after, like they stopped just for him. They kind of do.
The cashier at our store knows him by name because he asks her, every single time, what she's doing. She says scanning. He says wow. He means it.
He thanked the man cleaning the mall floor once. Unprompted. Said the floor looks so shiny. The man stopped, looked at him, and said nobody's said that to me in 6 years.
The security guard at the bank got a leaf. His highest honor. The guard still has it taped by his desk. I've seen it.
He doesn't do it to be kind. That's the part that gets me. He does it because he genuinely can't tell the difference between a doctor and the man who waters plants. They're all just people doing something, and doing something is amazing to him.
Somebody taught the rest of us the difference.
Nobody's taught him yet.
I'm in no hurry.
Terrible old ideas that have been forgotten, or were never known, for a generation and seen as new and exciting by young, often affluent activists. Meanwhile, the one group you can be certain despises socialism is made up of everyone who has ever lived under it.
@NintendoSteve@TheMuppetPastor You're making far too much stew out of one oyster. Passive cooling actually helps the situation, means the AC doesn't have to do so much work.
@NintendoSteve@TheMuppetPastor How is this anything to do with "The State" (whoever they're supposed to be)? They don't supply and install AC; that's the job of those who sell the kit and those who buy it from them.
@TheMuppetPastor Absolute pish-posh. There is no law against AC in Europe, and it is common in southern EU and in shops and workplaces. The thing is we haven't really needed it until the warming of more recent years, because the climate is more temperate than USA.
@javer_1@drterrysimpson Pish-posh. The only times I got flu were when I didn't get my usual annual vaccine.
It doesn't always stop it, but it certainly takes the edge off it.
@Mario_Sneh Please proofread your story. The "twin sister" becomes a "Se" and then a "him", then a "he", then back to "her" and "my sister".
Such confusion rather gives the impression that it's sheer fiction.
In Japan, a seven-year-old rides the train across the city. Alone.
No parent. No phone. No adult watching over her at all.
She bows to no one in particular, finds a seat,
sets her little backpack on her lap, and folds her hands.
She is going to school. By herself.
Across a city of fourteen million strangers.
And not one person in that car thinks anything is wrong.
A businessman glances up, then back to his paper.
An old woman smiles at her and looks away.
Nobody films her. Nobody calls anyone. Nobody is afraid.
Because here, a small child alone is not a victim waiting to happen.
She is just a kid going to school. Like every kid before her.
I was raised on the opposite. Lock the door. Watch your back.
Hold their hand. Never look away, not for one second,
or the world will reach out and take them.
And somewhere across the years, I let myself believe that was simply true.
Then I watched a seven-year-old ride home through a city of millions.
Step off at her stop. Walk the rest of the way. Safe.
We had this once, too. I am sure of it.
A street that kept an eye on your kids.
A town that walked them home.
Japan did not find a secret. They just never stopped
being decent to each other. Quietly. Every single day.
While the rest of us slowly forgot that we ever could.
That little girl will make it home tonight.
She always does. 🇯🇵
@AverageJoeAmer4@MikeLevin@tomas_coffee Then by all means prove me wrong. Post some images with details of what they were doing. I care less about childish insults than what the truth of things is.
@AverageJoeAmer4@MikeLevin@tomas_coffee A few web searches show up plenty of reportage of Trump flapping his jaw about "seven vandals arrested" but no names or photos or details *at all* of these alleged perpetrators, apart from the Olympic canoeist guy who already got processed and who's almost certainly innocent.
What exactly are you referring to when you say Tulsi "exposed Fauci and the deep state"?
I've actually read the documents she declassified. If you've followed the congressional hearings, intelligence reviews, and Fauci testimony over the last several years, there is very little that's new in Tulsi's supposed "bombshell" release.
What's interesting is that many people are now using these document releases to dismiss the recent WaPo reporting about Tulsi as a "hit piece" because she supposedly exposed some massive scandal.
But what exactly did she expose?
The COVID documents basically show:
• Researchers believed all the necessary conditions for an accidental release of a lab-modified coronavirus existed at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
• Because of that, a lab-related origin was being seriously considered alongside the natural spillover theory.
• U.S.-funded EcoHealth Alliance research involved collaboration with Wuhan researchers studying bat coronaviruses.
THAT'S IT.
Now, the government was definitely too quick to publicly dismiss the lab-leak hypothesis in 2020. The government also should NOT have been pressuring social media companies to suppress certain COVID-related content. That is exactly why so many people became convinced there was a massive conspiracy & that their government was lying to them.
Never again.
Importantly, though, these documents do NOT show that officials secretly knew COVID came from a lab. They do NOT show that scientists had proof of a lab leak and buried it. They do NOT show a coordinated coverup, despite the way the accompanying press release was written.
The documents show scientists & intelligence analysts debating competing hypotheses in real time while dealing with incomplete information. Pretty normal stuff, actually.
There is no smoking gun. No proof of engineering. No proof of a cover-up. No proof that COVID originated from a lab leak.
The conclusion remains exactly where it's been for years:
• A lab leak remains plausible.
• Natural spillover remains plausible.
• We still don't know.
And six years later, we may never know.
So if you think Tulsi revealed some earth-shattering new fact, tell me specifically what it was.
What new information did you learn from these documents that wasn't already public? Because I've read them, and I'm not seeing it.
A growing number of Gaza’s so‑called “journalists” (quite a few of whom are in fact militants with extensive evidence tying them to armed groups), “activists,” and online humanitarians are finally revealing the extent of their fraudulent work and corrupt narratives. As Gazans grow fed up with Hamas and push for the June 26 protests demanding an end to its rule, these same personalities are now inciting against ordinary Palestinians who want change.
The very people who had cameras ready for every Israeli strike, who filled Western feeds with dramatic footage and fiery commentary, are now silent at best – and at worst, demonizing and inciting against the fellow Gazans they once claimed to champion. The “pro‑Palestine” movement in the West, which uncritically elevated these figures as authentic voices, is watching its heroes parrot Hamas’s talking points: branding promoters of the protests as spies, collaborators, traitors, and agents of chaos.
For years, these Gaza‑based “influencers” pushed the “resistance” narrative to Western audiences because that’s what was in demand, while refusing to acknowledge Hamas’s abuses: aid theft, beatings, shootings, thuggery, hiding in hospitals, fighting from civilian areas. They said nothing against the terror group even as Gazans themselves took immense risks to speak out. Meanwhile, many of these same personalities leveraged the suffering of their own people to build brands, raise millions, launch businesses, steal donations, and in some cases leave Gaza for new lives abroad – all while opposing that very option for other Gazans to supposedly prevent ethnic cleansing.
These are the fraudulent “heroes” so many believed without question. Whether or not the June 26th protests are successful is irrelevant – pay close attention to those who support Gazans’ freedom from Hamas and those who oppose it.
