🚨 OpenAI announced two initiatives:
1) Jobs Platform to connect companies with AI-skilled workers.
2) Certifications through OpenAI Academy to build AI fluency.
OpenAI plans to mass-produce its own AI chips starting in 2026—a move that could significantly reduce its dependence on Nvidia and other companies.
Together with Broadcom, the company is developing a special series of processors (“XPU”) intended exclusively for its own use.
The reason for this is the enormous computing power required by modern models such as GPT-5, which until now could only be met by extremely expensive GPU clusters.
OpenAI just took a swing at one of AI’s biggest pain points: JOBS.
By 2030 it plans to certify 10 million Americans inside ChatGPT and funnel them to employers via a new AI-powered jobs board. Early backers include Walmart, BCG, John Deere and Indeed.
If the model works, AI fluency could become the next must-have line on every résumé—and OpenAI would sit at the center of the talent marketplace it’s creating.
