@DoomSpurs@tatentschluss Paracetamol is just over 2 euros for 20 in my local Apotheke. Prices for basic painkillers have really come down over the last 10 years.
@TheFitzconner@danobrien20 1 is the access to contraception. 2 is Women having access to education and careers. Any country where these are (thankfully) available sees a decline in the birth rate. Brazil and India being good examples.
@danobrien20 Worldwide, when you improve sex education, give women proper access to contraception and further education, and improve living standards, you get a drop in birthrates. Look at India where the fertility rate is below replacement. Interesting how it's mainly men who bemoan this.
@SophieMcDLaw Our apartment block here in Germany, built in 1973, has a drying room with clothes lines in one part of the cellar. In the warm dry months, the window vents are opened allowing a through draft. Winter, the windows are closed and an extractor fan is turned on. Brilliant design.
@eoinyk The USA only declared war on Germany when they had been attacked by Japan and Germany declared war on them first. They didn't rush to fight the Nazis.
@slowpurrrr@thepaulwilliams And I reckon most Irish fans are thinking the same. It's those who only tune in for the 6N and World Cup who may be in for a real disappointment.
@2chieftwit@Stat_Cult Not only do you find well educated, smart Irish in Ireland, but you encounter them worldwide. Including in top management positions in UK companies. That the Irish are stupid is as lazy a trope as saying that all the English are snobby pricks.
@banbloodsports And where their numbers have to be managed, that has to be done in the most humane way possible. Not being torn to bits by hounds after a terrifying pursuit.
@banbloodsports It's disgraceful that the parties employed a whip on this. This is a matter of conscience and morality. Especially Sinn Fein should hang their heads in shame.
@CraigMurrayOrg The Irish Times and other Western media have been covering the Ukrainian link since 2023 (one example):

@UseYour2Neurons@patrickc Actually, with English having become the international language of business and tech, we Irish are often better placed to emigrate to Europe too. I know many Irish working here in Germany using English only.
@UseYour2Neurons@patrickc I would add the fact that we all speak native English and this frees us up to emigrate, especially to English-speaking countries.
