@Brightonian_ Brighton are one of the best run team in Europe, everyone knows it. When one's own team is in a bit of a murky patch, some people are always gonna lash out. But Brighton are a great club and success will come, in one form or another
@Brightonian_ There's just gonna be a lot of this. Insecure people get jealous when others get praise, psychologically healthy people enjoy seeing others lifted up. The same applies to football teams.
@AJ121_football You make some good points, but I think the idea that no one criticizes Messi and Mbappe's work rate is very selective. Those two are two of the least hard working forwards in the world, and when results aren't going for them they absolutely get criticized for it.
@ben_cole90 and that success, over about a decade, brings income of all kinds. Sponsorships, performance related, merchandising, consistent high-value player sales. When you get there, you are stable. Villa and Newcastle are being prevented from bridging that gap in the same way. (2/2)
@ben_cole90 What PSR impedes us from doing is bridging the gap. City, Chelsea, and a few other teams were able to net spend humongous amounts of money, either because they came before PSR or because they cheated. This, with the results that followed, meant that they built success (1/2)
@DoctorBenjy I don't know why it's important for me to share this with you. But I thought you might enjoy seeing my winger absolutely cooking his full back with the patented Lee Lee special.
@f00tballnerd@pythaginboots Limitless cash and an already outrageous squad is a situation basically every top 4 manager has had for 3 decades. Why is Pep's situation different from Ancelotti, or Conte?
@DrogbaIsClear@pythaginboots I think the point of the post is totally writing off Man City/Pep, cos of the leak today. In that world, Klopp would be considered to have 3 PL titles. Nonsense, but that's the reasoning.
@TOGTFootball@Footballtweet Yeah, not like any other great goal scorers have ever gone to MLS at the end of their careers. Obviously this isn't going up on the mantle with his Balons d'Or, that doesn't make it utterly meaningless. There is a middle ground buddy.
@DevilsR40007@themagic_tophat You're right, but he's talking about how Arsenal built this team, not about how they're currently funding it. Plus their wages will slowly balloon I'm sure, but they will still be a long way behind City, probably Liverpool too.
@vega_spl@themezza He's clearly got some real quality to him, I'm excited for his season. But he clearly needs time to adapt, and so do these new players. He's only starting because we don't have a strong alternative.
@vega_spl@themezza These things do take time though. Look at Jackson today. Making runs his teammates don't see or pass to. Making lay-offs and passes only for teammate to not make the run he expected. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
