@ivymountains update, my loans were discharged and I received a refund check. No clue how they arrived at the total sent, but it was received.

Update. A refund check arrived with no statement or explanation of how they reached the total they sent. Maybe an explanation from the servicer or DoE is next. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Let’s see what happens next.

@ivymountains FYI I chatted with my servicer today and they told me the amount of the refund determined and the treasury will send a check within 10 days. Most information I’ve had in over a year. Progress? Maybe.
