@MaxROIFarmer@blake_vince@FLOLOfarms@GreenCoverSeed In the video it was rye seeded at 20lbs/acre in 10” spacing and seeded in mid October. For the guys wanting to chop it in the spring we go up to 100-125lbs. A lot of cost share requires 45lbs/acre at 85% germ. If someone wants a cheap cover crop of rye I like 20lbs-30lbs
@DozzzzzEric@lawrence_farms With the 60’ seeders you don’t need the added weight because the weight of the frame is so much more. When the gang rotates it transitions that weight to the ground. With the 2 box CB drills you need the added weights in the wings and in the tongue.
@Bkitch1Bodie will Melt Down help take care of 2023 rye straw residue left over in front of 2024 soybeans and will Melt Down hurt our 2025 wheat that was planted?
@CRNAfarmer2 I would go with the dual rib closing wheel. These do a nice job of closing and firming the seed trench while also creating soft berm above the seed. We primarily run in heavy soils and have ran these in the rain trying to finish up a field.
Reasons why we run Crustbuster drills
1-Row units are just like a planter row unit with the parallel linkage arms
2-Got narrow bridges and roads? So do we and that’s why we went with the front fold narrow transport
3-Easy to work on row units because they fold up to transport
@FarmrHuntr Manage it as if you were doing 30” soybeans. A lot of our customers plant 15” beans into 45lbs of rye and have no trouble. We do 20” corn into rye and that takes a bit more management but with 15” soybeans you’ll be fine.
@lawrence_farms@DozzzzzEric Parts have always been an issue but we teamed up with Crustbuster and created the only online OEM parts store. We stock parts and if you order parts before 2pm we can over night them with before noon delivery.
@lawrence_farms@DozzzzzEric Our process is pretty simple, we go through and spec out a drill and any additional options that you may want. The order goes in and once the drill or air seeder is built it ships right to your front door from the factory.
@DozzzzzEric@lawrence_farms The overall majority of Crustbuster 2 box drills don’t have wing weights.
They do make wing weights that slide into the end of the frame where the step is bolted on.
Between the 500lbs of down force/row unit and with the boxes having seed in them, I wouldn’t worry about it.
In less than a month custom cover crop season will start. Very fortunate to have the business blossom from its start last year. Big thanks to my customers and my industry partners @danbahej
@BenRiensche We're just east of Oelwein and can get in a tote of radish. I'm currently working on another bulk radish order and could group these two orders together.
@CarterHoltz2 did an absolute amazing job on our 9370R! Carter just graduated high school and has a hell of a business going detailing tractors, boats, rv’s, trucks & cars. His work is outstanding and he will go far in life!

@CRNAfarmer2@mmimick You can pull these drills 6-8mph. I have hit a large rock around 20” at night running just under 8mph and I did bend a row unit. If I see a rock that big, I just lift the drill and drive over it when I’m running on custom acres.
@CRNAfarmer2@mmimick We’re in a heavy rock area in ne Iowa, most rocks around here are 8”-24”. Either the rock will pass between the row units or the row unit will bounce over it. The closing wheels hold up and can take a lot of abuse. We replace the bearings on the closing wheels every 20k acres.
