Rival fans: “Man City would have no history without Pep.”
Man City fans: “So Pep Guardiola is the greatest manager of all time then?”
Rival fans: “No, he just found Man City already established and successful.”
Man City fans: “So we were already a big club before Pep?”
Rival fans: “No, you were a small club before Pep.”
Man City fans: “So Pep built a small club into a dominant one?”
Rival fans: “No, it was just money.”
Man City fans: “Then why didn’t the other rich clubs dominate football the same way?”
Every anti-City argument eventually starts fighting itself.
🤦♂️ Gabby: "Strange decision... Arsenal have scored so many goals from exactly that!"
😤 Jeff: "It's a foul, but Trossard has both arms around Pablo! Rice has both arms around Mavropanos!"
Stelling and Agbonlahor react to #WHUFC v #AFC VAR controversy! 😳
“Arsenal have been blocking the opponent’s goalkeeper all season long, they would NEVER be on top of the league if we disallow these goals!”
Peter Schmeichel thank you for calling them out. have your cheating title VARSENAL. 👏
🚨🗣️ | Paul Scholes on Arsenal NOT deserving to WIN the League:
“Look, I love seeing Manchester City drop points as much as anyone, but first of all, football has to be fair. Thierno Barry’s first goal should have been offside, simple. We cannot talk about integrity only when it suits us. If City are going to slip, it should be through proper football, not poor decisions.
And honestly, if Arsenal win the league at this point, it won’t feel like they were the best team, it’ll feel like the rest of the league has just been awful. Too many teams dropping standards, too many favors, too much luck falling their way, Credit to Arsenal for taking advantage, but let’s not act like luck hasn’t played a huge part too.
if they actually go on to win it I will say it straight to their faces: it is not going to be because they are the best team in England. No chance. It is simply because the rest of the teams in the league are absolutely awful right now. It is a league of massive underperformers. Liverpool is dropping silly points, United is rebuilding for the hundredth time, Chelsea is a mess, and now City is getting robbed by bad decisions.
Arsenal are not playing this incredible, untouchable football that people want to pretend they are playing. They are just getting lucky, and luckier, week after week. You watch their games teams are missing open goals against them, the referees are handing them favors or punishing their rivals, and the other top clubs are constantly tripping over their own feet. The consistency from the big teams this year is zero. Arsenal is just the team making the fewest stupid mistakes in a season full of them.
That is not being a team of greatness. That is just surviving a terrible year for English football. If Martin Ødegaard and Saka lift that trophy in May, they don't need to tell us how brilliant they are. They need to look up to the sky, thank the football gods for their unbelievable luck, and send a thank-you card to the rest of the league for being so incredibly poor”
