@kyliejustine The last time I gave notice, I asked to push back the start day in the new position so I could be sure to set up a smooth transition for the team I was leaving. I gave a month notice. I was told my final date would be 2 weeks instead. Ok?
@_TallieRose As a mother of a son on the autism spectrum, I can’t even count how many religious families ostracized my son because he made the parents uncomfortable. The kids enjoyed hanging out with him. But over and over, I endured parents telling me my son couldn’t hang out with their kids
@itsabentworld @MomDeanie @AngEngland@sheilagregoire Then why is it that men outside the church treat me with far more respect than men inside the church ever did? If it’s the Holy Spirit that enables treating women like humans instead of objects, then the Holy Spirit isn’t in the church today.
@Showrunner_G @JinkiesJerrica I see you and I raise you nine rounds of interviews, an effusively positive email response from a VP after the final round, and ghosted. It was a good 40 hours of my time. Who knows how much it cost the company for the hours their people spent interviewing me.
Ho-hum. Just another Wednesday lockdown at my daughter’s high school. Fourth one in a month. Didn’t even bother being a double bomb and shotgun threat this time.
Why is there a mental health crisis amongst teens? Who can tell.
@alternate_guhwa@Eric_Conn As a woman, my experience in sharing why I personally would choose to wear leggings seemed relevant to the discussion. But go ahead and shove my “specific case” under the rug of your sweeping generalizations that are surely more insightful.
@PostmillDuck @philvischer@Eric_Conn@LauraRbnsn @KlauraLenda Thank you all for reminding me why I prefer the company of non-Christians at a nude beach over theobros in the latest church-couture on any given Sunday morning. The respect towards women by the former is generally only outmatched by their authenticity.
@robunderwood@Eric_Conn I’ll just say… the percentage of harmful men I encountered in the church was MUCH higher than the percentage I’ve encountered since I left the church.
@Eric_Conn And by “lady Bible teacher,” clearly you meant “well-recognized researcher and multi-published author with empirical evidence to support her conclusions”
@moonbuster @Steffl3r That does not absolve us of responsibility to meet tangible needs here and now as humans. It doesn’t mean we overlook abuse of power in the church. It doesn’t mean we ignore laws and policies that actively harm people.
@MamaSissieSays My daughter’s high school has had two lock-downs and evacuations in just the past week. When the last lock-down started, her teacher turned off the lights, locked the door, and told everyone to keep working.
@moonbuster @Steffl3r Neither the church nor the government can exert any control over someone’s heart. Access to guns CAN be changed. And have a real impact.
