There IS a genuine desire for representation to reflect people's experiences better, but audiences have become increasingly hostile to anything challenging that actually reflects that. People think representation means it's never messy, uncomfortable, or leaving you with doubts.
You could never convince me this is true.
Every Filipino who has anything in excess thinks of other people they can share it with.
The problem: most have nothing in excess, and are often in the position where they must take.
@eurydaisies oh and less accesibility for sure!! there's a ton of national theatre plays i'd like to dip into but the pricing is insane for someone like me (albeit justified for the hard work)
@eurydaisies less promotion because i think some serious productions dont like selling themselves out as much on social media. plus, musicals have a lot of the attention-grabbing spectacles in their numbers anyway so the promotion comes easy
