Took way longer than I thought (2 years) but we finally did it!!!
Learn the basics of game development using JavaScript while building a breakout clone with the ability to add custom levels using pixel art!
@danfletcherdev we're finally live π We've created a course to guide you through creating breakout from scratch using JavaScript. It's our first, be gentle π #gamedev https://t.co/9QipAZVH1i
Been practicing my ollie a lot lately and I'm pretty proud of the form during the take-off for this one :D
Getting back into skateboarding at 33 has been tough lol
@christophrumpel Oh didn't know you used to too! That's awesome π€
I've been scared about my ankles too π³
For the last few months since I started skating again I've been doing a lot of mobility exercises to try and avoid injury (as much as possible)
@hatch2k3 Thanks! It really is a workout lol I can't believe I used to use these things for getting around town
My goal is to get more into mini ramps and bowls because it's a lot easier on the joints than doing street
What skills do you work on outside of being a developer?
Right now I'm working on the skill of painting parking lots with my shins (some call this skateboarding πΉ)
@jeffrey_way I haven't gotten into too much yet myself but have you looked into Nix? Not sure if it does exactly what you're trying to achieve but it might get you close https://t.co/3EWnCOuaNP
Another thought is aliasing brew et el to a bash script that uses rsync or ssh
That or Docker π
@christophrumpel And for a grand room like that I don't think the design is usually considering long hours of tv watching
It's more of a background thing if you have it at all. If your house is large enough for a room like that chances are you have a seperate space for watching movies
@christophrumpel In my last house (Canada) we did this because the fireplace made it so there was no other option
But also in a grand room like that you're potentially watching TV from the kitchen or dining area which makes the height more natural
Life has been so hectic for me lately π
Our move was a disaster but we're finally in the new house and slowly settling in
Loving the view from our front window in the morning!
@skyiesq@TreciaKS Good overall! Considering it's almost free it's tough to have any complaints. The flexibility fit my life extremely well at the time too
@DThompsonDev Haha jokes aside there are legitimate case studies where this is "better"
I think it was Turbo Tax that ran into issues with customers complaining that they didn't trust that their taxes could be filed so quickly
They had to purposely add a loader to simulate "work"
