@elonmusk I made this to try to illustrate how recent "ancient history" actually is. Human history as an 800-page book, with each page covering 250 years. Recorded history is just the last row!

We played that game where you roll 2 dice and shade a rectangle whose area matches the product of the two numbers of the dice. The grid size we used is 20cm by 15cm. Ss take it in terms shading rectangles until both Ss cant go. Largest total area wins.

On Fridays, I lay a book blanket out before the children arrive (this was yesterday's). They each pick a book, read it and write a short summary/review. I like to see which book they choose + what they take (or don't) from the books. It's one of our favourite times of the week!

We do weekly walkthroughs where subject leaders go through: knowledge to be taught, misconceptions, model responses, recommend resources, ensure retrieval, ensure student practice time given. Our whole Dept on same page for following week. It’s made me a more effective teacher.
