On redirect, ADA Yoran and Dr. Harris going over literature about the "debunked" idea of sudden death from sickle cell trait, based on extreme exertion
Dr. Harris says it's an "exceptionally rare phenomenon, there are no studies to back that up," "viewed with extreme skepticism"
OUR HERO OF THE DAY IS...
Mackenzie Scott, the ex-wife to Jeff Bezos. This week Elon Musk said Scott was destroying western civilization by donating hundreds of millions to women charities and causes.
Her response, was to double her donations!

As Long Islander David Mack objected to the now-discounted congestion pricing toll, his new Buick was parked illegally in an Access-a-Ride spot — with a Nassau County Police placard placed improperly on the dash. https://t.co/KkUKYijM9G
Several times on Monday, as Mack's car remained illegally parked during the MTA Board meeting, Access-a-Ride drivers were forced to pick up or drop off customers in the middle of Stone Street. https://t.co/KkUKYijM9G
Michigan State Police ran a profitable racket with false DUI tickets, pulled their scam on Dakarai Larriett, arrested the sober man, profiling him as easy victim, claiming DUI. He is a Whirlpool exec who just filed a $10 million suit against MSP for it.

This morning I received a call from the ER that a patient I saw this week in clinic was in the ER. Why? Because they didn’t want to wait for my team to navigate prior authorization to get specialized imaging of their lumbar spine. He’s had a few falls recently and we need to get imaging to see if he has a new issue in his spine leading to the falls. Going to the ER wastes resources, both of space and personnel, to get something done that shouldn’t require additional oversight. This would have cost his insurer roughly $350 to get the imaging done but now they will spend tens of thousands for his ER visit, admission, and ultimately the same imaging being done in a hospital instead of an outpatient imaging facility.
Let’s face it, America has lost trust in insurance companies and their seemingly never ending desire to squeeze money out of patients and physicians. We need everyone to stand up and ask for a functional healthcare system that provides care when it is needed and pays a fair and reasonable amount to the people who provide it. I’m proud to work with @txpatients on helping patients get the care they receive over stockholders getting dividends. It’s time to take back our healthcare system. Patients and physicians need to band together to fight for meaningful change.
if you actually gave a shit about working people, you would be complaining a lot more about how much more expensive it is to take public transit from your district into the congestion pricing zone than it is to drive, even with the fee
As a rural ER doctor, I feel guilty cutting back my hours. But it's the only way for me to keep working
After working for years in an understaffed hospital, I've hit a wall of burnout

With Democrats flipping CA45, this guarantees that Republicans will not be able to make a net gain of seats in the house. The range of outcomes is now No net change or Dems+1 seat. There has never been no net change in the house elections in history.
