@SaltboxHomeNL Hey MAtthew, although I didn't think about it that way, I definitely agree with your assessment. Recordings now are produced at such a higher quality overall!! #MUS2011
@kirsten_gillam Hey Kirsten, I 100% agree with you! Today's society truly only cares to see the original artist. Because of the costly expense that it is to see famous musicians live, young people are content with dancing and listening to a track.
I agree with Wald’s assessment because technology in today’s world allows consumers to easily access original records to listen and dance to. It is more accessible and common for people to dance to original records than to go see a cover band. #mus2011
@malcolm_pilgrim Hey Malcolm, great post! You’re definitely right, the answer most certainly is not black and white. However the examples you listed are definitely leading reasons. #mus2011
@AlanaMus2011 Hey Alana, great response! It’s too bad the industry is this way sometimes. It seems curious that there are not punishments or regulations to such publications of music #MUS2011
The authors likely consider this music “schlock due to it’s unoriginality which decreases sentimental/emotional value associated with said music. I believe this music still has some value though as it still some what expresses creativity in a musical sense. #mus2011
@sskinner9712 Hey Skylar, that’s a good point! The use of this technique, especially for its time, is quite impressive and further shows off how much talent someone would have to be able to effectively use it. #mus2011
@malcolm_pilgrim Hey Malcolm, great tweet! I agree with what you’re saying! I have personally really enjoyed Ray Charles music in the past and found it had a want to dance effect. #mus2011
I think Ray Charles uses breaking voice to dramatically express his emotions in his music. In “I’ve got a woman”, this is exemplified in certain lyrics to emphasize his gratitude toward said woman #mus2011
@LambeJennifer Hey Jennifer! What you said is so true! They are great for sports teams and their locker rooms too! Many of the teams I coach and play on use portable speakers in the locker room before games which can get the team pumped up. #mus2011
@gillie345 Hey Gillian! I share the same feelings about apple music. It is awesome how both programs allow you to access and be suggested to new music you may have never heard before #mus2011
Shazam is my personal favorite musical technology. It has influenced my identity in a sense that I never get frustrated trying to figure out the name of a song. Whenever I want to know the name of a song I am listening to, it is always accessible through the app #mus2011
@DevonRyan1 Hey Devon! I like your unique take on the matter. I would not have looked to approach the question this way. It is true and unfortunate that pop music may lead people to view people who enforce law, such as police officers, in such a negative fashion. #mus2011
@raymondpurchase Hey Raymond! I feel that we share very similar opinions on the matter. Your examples are very relevant to today's society and what many youth think they need. I would not even know what gucci was if not for its reoccurring appearance in many pop songs on the radio. #mus2011
The media industry has created false needs that influence what products people purchase and consume (drugs, makeup) and how they live their life (social media, parties). The pop music industry is not passive as it makes music based on what sells (sex, partying, fame). #MUS2011
