@Nerdcognito I've always wanted to play this game but clips I've watched make all the companions sound insipid and annoying. Is there an option to just create blank slate companions that don't talk so I can play this game in peace with a party build of my choosing?

@AshValePress @fandompulse I used to think he took too long to write his novels. But then went back and checked the release dates and for a man with a terminal illness, he wrote fast. Compare that to what we have now (Rothfuss or Martin, etc). We didn't know how good we had it. Now look what we deal with.

@bcbaker66 @bi02247255 There's something about the way this is being said that sounds nightmarish in a way I don't think is intended. Like, I think I understand what Bednar is saying; there are cultural notes that creep in like idols. But "purging the church of all culture" sounds almost Orwellian.

@SandyofCthulhu Several years ago my wife and I traveled to Poland. Had to change flights in Amsterdam. Customs agent asked us our reason for going to Poland. We said "for fun." He scoffed and said "yeah. Ok." Then let us through. But no joke, Poland was so much fun. One of my favorite places.

@DavidJohnButler @MorlockP Never watched Harry Potter until recently with my kids. Not a huge fan, obviously, but a dictatorship of unelected bureaucrats in the UK appears to be the most prescient and relatable thing I've seen so far.

@MrsKonradCurze It took me about 3/4 of the book before it finally clicked. Now it's one of my favorite series. It's not for everyone. Keep in mind, understand that the first novel. Every chapter is essentially a self contained story with a narrative thru-line to connect them.

@emililypad @AnkerBuchter @MrsCMFrancis While the abuse in that book is sad, I definitely took the wrong lesson from that book: "wait a minute, you just studied really hard for a few months and did well on the ACT and that was enough to get into college?!"

@MishaBurnett I haven't read a lot of King. But I thought the MC in Joyland was a decent guy. Not perfect, but it was a nice coming of age story.

Also a couple guys in the Stand. Stu Redmond and Nick Andros are decent. Larry Underwood starts out awful but becomes decent.

@MishaBurnett @SusanSavageLee1 Agreed. My favorite horror novel is John Langan's The Fisherman. I recommend it to people who are hesitant about horror by saying it's a fantasy novel where weird things happen. It helps ease the fantasy folks in.

@BarbarianDisco These older illustrations were great. There's an element of humanity hanging on by the skin of their teeth. There's always an element of danger.
