I'm trying out @Quick_DBD: an online databases design platform. It's simple and convenient, but ... not free.
What platform(s) do you recommend for full-featured and cost-effective DB diagramming? What's the average cost?

Over 35 emerging learning analytics scholars and leaders attended the 2nd annual @studentSoLARSIG happy hour at #LAK19!
We hope to see *you* at #LAK20!
@jstein@CanvasLMS It's a great metaphor for security. Thanks! I imagine Tolkein's dragons and their hoards of gold, but in this case it's a database protecting student info.
I wish there were better ways to share data (learn more, across platform boundaries) while also protecting privacy.
At the the #LAK19 introduction today, @CanvasLMS self identified as data hoarders...
As Inigo Montoya said: You keep using that word [hording]... I do not think it means what you think it means.
In the wake of the news of TurnItIn being sold, not sure @CanvasLMS should have people bragging about being data hoarders. Lots of big questions now finally getting attention about the morality of hoarding data. #lak19
I'll be there and @BobBodily will too.
It's an important meeting. We decide what initiative to pursue and how to spend our budget (thanks @SoLAResearch).
Are you going to be there?
The @studentSoLARSIG business meeting is today during the networking session (4:30-5:30 in the Arizona ballroom).
All graduate student, postdocs, and recent grads are welcome — especially those interested in joining the leadership for the next year.
Only 5 days until #LAK19 submissions are due on October 1st.
It's almost time to submit anything in the main track: full and short papers, practitioner submissions, workshops, tutorials, and applications to the doctoral consortium.

Students at #LAK18, join the Graduate Student SIG for a post-conference happy hour. Celebrating the SIG's inaugural year, we'll provide libations, snacks, and information on SIG initiatives.
