I found that here in this small corner of the city going block by block, listening to people, learning about their hardships and hopes. The neighborhoods I organized fall within a five-mile radius of the Obama Presidential Center. @MichelleObama and I were married less than a mile away; our daughters, born down the street. This is the district I served in the Illinois State Senate. And it’s where I announced my candidacy for the United States Senate, before embarking on the campaign that so improbably led to this day.

Stalin for example ignored true experts when it came to agriculture and instead relied on quacks like Trofim Lysenko, whose bizarre ideas contributed to poor agricultural results and caused catastrophic famines.
