You’re not competing with anyone. Get out of your head. Just show up. Do what you know you need to do. It’s not that complicated. In fact, it is painfully simple. So simple, your mind can hardly tolerate it. So, it invents stories and narratives that make it seem more complicated than it is to justify your inaction and avoidance. These are illusions. They are fuelled by fear. They only work when you let yourself believe the world is scarce, that you are ‘behind’, that what you would do would not be good enough, that you’re not ready. Don’t fall for any of it. Just be present, notice what is true, do what is needed, rest when you’re done. And then repeat.
@WorldofRobert1 Why chop wood and carry water?
So we can chop more wood and carry more water.
Why is it so important?
Because there’s nothing but wood and water.
What other skills do you need?
@JFreshHockey@ShutdownLine So true!… I found the juxtaposition of personalities between him and Keith Jones (when they did studio/desk work) to be really interesting and ultimately funny. It was almost as if the producers knew they putting someone universally loved (Jones) next to someone few like.
@WorldofRobert1 As you participated in the death of the former ego and engineered the birth and growth of your new, intentional self, you have become a great example.
Jung said, “It is the privilege of a lifetime to become who you truly are…”
Thanks for showing us how to do that!
@WorldofRobert1 Great observation, isn’t shared enough!…
Had a boss tell me this 25 yrs ago and it stuck
“Want to complain? Shut up and about do something about it!
Can’t do anything about it? Shut up and prevent it from happening next.
Also, never forget to shut up.”
He was a delight
@WorldofRobert1 Didn’t mean to minimize the depth portrait you painted with your initial tweet, as it is truly terrifying.
I was merely struck by the fact that panic became routine when I chose to poison myself continuously.
There’s a way out, but it has to start with stopping.
@WorldofRobert1 I’m approaching 16 months sober and my sleep is very fragmented.
That does cause stress.
But, as I learn to be curious about the issue (during the day) and to stop pressuring sleep at night(in the moment), I am getting slowly better.
