@kover_bence@jjakobsdottir@pmelsted@Sindri_e Integrating datasets across different tissues or even species seems a way complicated problem than integrating datasets of the same tissue type profiled via different technologies or from different donors - which seems to be Harmony's focus.
@kover_bence@jjakobsdottir@pmelsted@Sindri_e Am I wrong in thinking there should be a distinction between batch correction and dataset integration? Kind of an "all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares" issue. To me the former assumes a much greater degree of "overlap" than the latter.
Our work to define the regional organization of the small intestine is online @NatureCellBio today: https://t.co/pjnlnXMuB9!! Make way for domains A – E and a new approach to track the molecular patterns of nutrient metabolism. Many thanks to @s_lefkopoulos
& our reviewers!
🔬Dive into the exciting world of developmental biology in sunny ☀️🌊Santa Cruz this August to explore “Unifying Principles of Organismal Development." Registration : https://t.co/WxTbRVMI8w #scdb24@LOBrienLab@zevgartner@Ali__Shariati__
Our mammalian cell programmable reaction-diffusion plasmid pack is now on Addgene--everything you need to get started making waves, analyzing images with DSP, and interfacing with cell biology! Have fun and reach out if you need help/have questions 😵💫https://t.co/T4IVieWGre
Have a noisy MULTI-seq or cell hashing dataset that suffered greatly at the sample demultiplexing step? Give our new algorithm deMULTIplex2 a try :) Article is open-access now @GenomeBiology and our R package is on Github!
Do you use sample multiplexing for single cell analysis (e.g. hashtags, MULTIseq, etc.)? Would you like to recover significantly more cells from your data? Then try deMULTIplex2, just out on Genome Biology! https://t.co/uFl1KqdNkT.
Rep. Zephyr is set up on a bench just outside the House chamber this morning, voting remotely. She’s barred from entering the chamber or debating on bills. #mtleg#mtpol
His name is #RalphYarl and I’m sick and tired of this feeling…my heart completely broke when I learned this precious 16-year-old, who accidentally rang the door of the wrong address in an attempt to pick up his siblings, was shot in the head… (1/3)
Today we report that an engineered skin bacterium, swabbed gently on the head of a mouse, can unleash a potent immune response against a distant tumor. @yerinchen led the charge w/ help from @DjenetBousbaine, @VeinbachsA, @BelkaidLab. @ScienceMagazine 1/26

@lstops In what other field is it normal for an apprenticeship to last 5-7 years? If a PhD is not a job, is a postdoc a job? Once I advanced to candidacy, my responsibilities as a PhD student are the exact same as those of the postdocs, except that they have more experience...
@soupmd_ It's really telling that when a place hires only white men/majority white men, people say it's not necessarily racist or sexist because "what if they were the best people for the job?" but when the opposite happens it MUST be "woke" and not merit
