Just met in person with my congressman about reverting the damaging wording in #section174. He was very receptive!
So, know that your representatives are willing to help, if you get involved and speak up!
Never built on the Internet Computer but want to start? Join our hackathon kickoff and @demergentlabs' Azle workshop to learn about their TypeScript CDK for the #IC@dfinity@lastmjs

It amazes me how little people talk about this new Section 174 thing. Essentially, all my competitors will be flushed out (We don't want that, right? Am I right??? 😅)
Jokes aside, please sign the following petition if you have a software company in the US. It is the dumbest tax law ever made and is already in place. Basically, companies have to deduct developer salaries/expenses over 5 years, which makes tax bills for most software companies 3x/4x higher.
Today is the last day to sign. Please do so here: https://t.co/AKzmpyMmZA
And please retweet @mjwhansen original tweet.
IRC section 174, the gist: you can no longer fully and immediately deduct software dev expenses
This is devastating. But there's hope in Washington and we can help!
Join myself and @mjwhansen as we discuss what we can do to repeal these harmful changes

Anyone interested in the success of software businesses in the USA (that should be everybody), please fill out this form.
@mjwhansen is our advocate and I'm very optimistic we can make some real progress towards getting this repealed.
Section 174 is the context, it's bad.
#Section174 of the US Internal Revenue Code has devastating implications for small software businesses with tight margins. Please help me get it changed by signing this petition: https://t.co/PWfQ6k1WQO
If you run a software company and want to have an aneurysm, look up "Section 174." You have to amortize developer costs over 5 years now instead of deducting them in the year incurred. Your taxable "profits" are about to be huge but also fake.
1/ If you're running a software development business of any kind, please take action: New section 174 changes took effect in 2022 that are potentially devastating to our businesses.
It looks like software development of any kind cannot be deducted in the year incurred.
If you've ever been interested in using TypeScript to build on a blockchain but didn't know where to start sign up for our free mentoring. Azle is really easy to get started with and I'm looking forward to teaching you :)

Azle 0.10.0 has been released
This release introduces the first stable structure, StableBTreeMap.
Stable structures allow writing to stable memory in real-time, without complicated or expensive pre/post upgrade serialization/deserialization.

Kybra Beta has been released.
This release transitions Kybra from alpha to beta, and brings Kybra's functionality much closer to Motoko and Rust, and possibly on par or better than Azle in capability.
