There is a viral trend on X right now about women who are still in contact with their "ex rapist". One with 19M views and counting, the other with 16M views.

The reason why it's blowing up so much is that this dynamic is not only real, but it's common among women's relationship fantasies. Oftentimes, they accuse their ex, who broke up with them, of SA, but still maintain contact because they can't get over him.

Other times, she was legitimately assaulted, and yet still maintained or initiated intimate relationships with the assaulter. Women are mentally malleable due to their higher "agreeableness" allowing them to even reframe past traumas as something "fun". Other times, it was just a consensual encounter that she mentally reframed as rape to garner sympathy.

Up to 60% of women have rape and forced sex fantasies that are framed in an erotic context rather than purely traumatic. This dynamic is central to many women's romance novels with forced seduction tropes.

In essence, toxic women can gaslight themselves to reframe past incidents and experiences to fit their needs at the time... whether it comes to custody battles, court cases, or regret situations. Victim status garners clout and sympathy, incentivising women to not only lie to other people but also believe in the lie themselves.

False allegations themselves have an extremely low risk of actual legal pushback, where over 99% of them go unpunished.

What's been happening over the last four years or so is that the Left's long-standing assumption that history was on their side is cracking, and as those cracks widen, the entire Progressive project is being openly mocked.

The Right is beginning to contest the metaphysical claims underlying Progressivism itself, rather than just meekly accepting the premise while dragging their feet about it.

But that kind of just begs the question. If the backlash against Progressivism is an inherently metaphysical rejection of the entire proposition itself, then what sort of order replaces it?

I think we're starting to enter an era where the biggest political questions are going to be things like "What is the good life?" or "How does society promote virtue?" These won't be publicly asked, of course, but they will implicitly lie behind everything that's to come.

If the Right is ever to stop society's seemingly endless march off a cliff at the hands of Progressivism, it must rediscover the ability to contest metaphysical claims rather than merely appeal to individualistic, utilitarian, or procedural arguments against the Left.

We've been doing the latter for decades, and it never works because each angle basically just concedes all the essential points of Progressivism right from the start.

Those days are over, and anyone who doesn't understand that isn't going to make it.
