used to chase shitcoins for infinite % returns and felt nothing. then i fell in love with automated trading and get excited over 0.5% trades. why am i like this
@tao_lin my friend have you read Kierkegaard's The Sickness unto Death? these people are in the highest form of despair because they want to be in despair, and hate existence out of sheer spite and misery. these people think their existence is evidence against goodness.
@bryan_johnson I recognise your motto is literally 'don't die' but have you accepted your death? I can't tell if your approach is the result of either a faustian striving or a cowering inauthenticity
@DylanoA4 "It's from our fathers, what we inherit
To possess it really, we've got to earn it,
What you don't use is a dead weight,
What's worthwhile is what you spontaneously create"
@bane432@dissproportion tbh, from my very limited understanding of Heidegger, he never really throws shade on those living inauthentic lives - it's just the natural state of Dasein. authenticity = coming to terms with the death of Dasein, knowing your actual limits, accepting the Anxiety of death
@waitbutwhy You're asking something that can only act rationally to confront, understand, and treat the most irrational of issues and complexes in the belief that these irrationalities can be grouped, abstracted, quantified into something rational - and then approached as such
@simpelyfe maybe - in a state of heightened emotion and excitement you experienced a very visceral triumph of your will over 'chaos', for a moment you became master of your own reality, able to shape it to your will, a conqueror etc. which is why your self-esteem was raised so much?
@BeatzXBT also - i notice you update orders on a fixed 1s basis. what's your rational for this? idk how the big boys do it, but I set a certain % movement towards order before a time delay then update. for movement away from order price, i set X amount of ticks and no time delay
@BeatzXBT i think you might find it handy personally, it essentially scores markets based on wicks (mean-reversion) and has some other basic stats too. i used it a lot to quantify which markets to trade on (though usually you can tell on sight)
