My health insurance costs ยฃ150 a month for the family and I get seen immediately.
Both wife and I each pay ยฃ300 a month in NI, our employers pay another ยฃ600 each on our behalf.
ยฃ1800 a month and I have bully the GP to even refer me, then wait 4 months for a scan.
@Megsenmumdr@simondoyle87@LondonEMDoc@theRCN I know, right, GP posts in Ontario for loads of money...
Thing is tho, they never factor in the "what's keeping you in the UK is solid" type thing.
Oh well, never mind...
@theipaper No you don't want working class doctors. Every one of those i know is struggling when there are no jobs, they're being replaced, they're being underpaid. All crap you've made massively worse/refused to improve. Speaking as one of those "working class" ones.
@Keir_Starmer Couldn't harness a piss with a funnel, never mind technology. That aside having inherited an "NHS on it's knees" and deciding to make it worse.
@Carolin66137193@TheSnoozeDoctor Because junior doctor is a demeaning term to fully qualified professionals with (mostly) years of experience..also, there's no other term between foundation and consultant to recognise those with said experience. Conveniently left out to avoid recognising merit with pay.
@Smt66S@DishSmichri@LabourUK@NHSuk PS Salaried GP doctor's wages are shite but even so they can't strike because they're different from (but intrinsically tied to) partner GP docs who are still hellbent on preserving what's left of their independence, despite their own (quite harsh) paycuts in recent years.
@Smt66S@DishSmichri@LabourUK@NHSuk If you don't get it that it's not the GPs striking, you don't get anything and it'll be very hard to help you get it. GPs are "doctor's" as a general term, but they're certainly not the only doctors on Earth's face, they are in fact the smallest number of doctors in the UK.
@DrSteveTaylor@NHSEngland As a patient, I don't want to be operated on by a nurse. And I don't want to be nursed by a doctor. And the assistant is there for the scribing. Not for doing neither doctor stuff nor nurse stuff. I'll always be ("over") reliant on these people, each in it's place.
