Most businesses don’t need just any software. They need a way to turn how they actually work into software
That’s what @emergentlabs is becoming: the operating system for businesses
Today we’re announcing our $130M Series C at a $1.5B valuation to put that future in their hands
Startup idea: Timeleft for Running
Timeleft went $0 to $10M ARR getting strangers to meet for dinner. Same mechanic, but burning calories instead of consuming them.
How it works:
• Matches groups of 4-5 runners by pace, location and availability
• You get matched, you meet, you run
• New runners every week, keep the friendships you make
• Training plans and race goals baked in for retention
Run clubs already did your user acquisition. You're just solving their overflow problem.
Steal it.
If you’re looking for something to start, we have every idea we’ve ever published (750+) in one searchable Google Sheet.

Fable 5 leaves tomorrow.
So before it goes, I asked Fable to write the prompt that teaches any other model to think like it does.
This is what it wrote:
If I was starting a new company today, I'd start an agent business.
SaaS was a multi-billion dollar market. Agents are a multi-trillion dollar one.
How to build I'd build an agent business from 0:
Spot the niche → find a workflow with a paycheck → shadow the human → spec the agent → run it manually first → build the smallest useful version → sell the pilot like labor → productize the repeatable parts.
Entire episode is live on @startupideaspod 100% free like always.
SaaS sold software and let your team use it to get the job done. An agent business sells the job already done. That shift matters because labor is a multi-trillion dollar market, far bigger than software ever was.

If I was starting a new company today, I'd start a small pie shop on the corner somewhere. Counter service with some stools, incandescent lighting, just a few pie choices in a rotating display, and a mug for coffee. Probably call it "A piece of pie and a coffee, please". One flat price. Coffee and a slice of pie included. Don't want the coffee? Don't drink it. Don't want the pie? Don't eat it.
