3/3 This work was carried out at the labs of Luciana Andrade and Roger Chammas at @FMUSPoficial ICESP in Brazil, and with Toos Daemen in @researchumcg Groningen. 🎉 Shout out to all the coauthors that contributed to a great team effort!
1/3 Happy to share one of the final chapters of my PhD on oncolytic virotherapy! This study explores how oncolytic virotherapy can impacts the content and function of extracellular vesicles (EVs) from melanoma cells.
Link: https://t.co/TN0aHaUi8i
2/3 Key findings:
1. A single-round of infection with a recombinant alphavirus enables EV analysis without extracellular virus interference.
2. Oncolytic virotherapy alters EV cargo, including regulatory microRNAs.
3. EVs from infected cells reduce immune suppression.
🥳Happy to share our article on oncolytic virotherapy and T-cell responses influencing outcomes. Key insights: timing of therapy, anticancer T-cell activity, and the diffusion of immune signals all play complex roles, sometimes reducing effectiveness.

My take on scientists leaving Twitter/X: It's great to see communities really developing on other platforms and there are lots of good reasons to boycott this place... 1/n
✨#Postdoc opportunity in my lab @CbiToulouse ! Join an exciting @ERC_Research funded project on the microbiota-gut-brain axis in bees.

Did you know that bacteria remember their past for many generations? In this new preprint from us (@VillaniAlexis and Senen Mendoza) and Banin lab (@ShmidovE ), we reveal the "how?" and "why?" underlying a long-standing mystery in bacterial memory. https://t.co/zFc8PDLqTu
Preprint from our #optogenetics team: novel photoswitch that allows an up to 400-fold induction of target gene expression by blue light! Perfectly suited to express biotherapeutics! Great collaboration @IIIBonn@MoeglichLab#ningaloobiosystems https://t.co/KdURxaWnUB
An absolutely bonkers stat from this Nature article on Nobel Prize winners.

This is everything. In 2006, students from Xavier High School in NYC sent Kurt Vonnegut five letters asking the writer to visit their class. What he wrote back is one of the best things ever:
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be defending my PhD next Wednesday (Oct 2nd)! If you're interested in molecular evolution and gene regulation and would like to join via Zoom, feel free to PM me for the link 😃
