so much garbage in so many beautiful repos.
wonder if beauty means anything. openai-agents was one of my favs. but the sandbox_agent is garbage. wonder if the doom and gloom got to the morale of great engineers.
Godfather of AI: "If you sleep well tonight, you may not have understood this lecture."
This 47-minute lecture is the best thing I saw about AI in the last few months.
It will definitely help you understand how it actually works and where it's going.
Geoffrey Hinton built the neural networks behind every AI alive, then quit Google to warn the world about it.
[The part nobody wanted to hear:]
AI is already developing abilities its creators didn't intend
in most cognitive tasks it's already ahead of us
the question is no longer if it surpasses us but when
the only decision left is which side of that line you're on
right now the average person opens ChatGPT, types something, gets an answer, closes the tab.
they think they understand AI. they've never built one.
I went through his entire lecture, turned it into a practical system.
how to build your own GPT model from scratch. 18 steps, the actual architecture, no fluff.
full guide in the post below.
designing a cloud agent there are two camps. one like cognition which is api based , there is also 2nd where kernel is shipped like codex / claude. there is still a new mode which hasnt garnered much traction yet and only impl by openai , websockets. i strongly feel this is the right approach.
in OpenCode v2 all instances of the tui and desktop and web share the same backend
so everything is synced by default and resource usaged is minimized no matter how many windows you have open
@leogau@karpathy@kuroke01@gallabytes interesting that company slack people are more civil and enables better sense of community. i just suddenly also felt same, i prefer my slack over twitter
