One node Render→Painting! 🎨
The Paint filter is a node that I made with the help of the #blender team and will come with Blender 5.2 as part of the Online Essentials. Tutorial on Wednesday. Can't wait to see what you all do with it!
Did you know that Gaussian splatting always assumed that none of the Gaussians overlap, which is definitely not a correct assumption? Our CVPR 2026 (findings) effort Softmax-GS improves over the non-overlapping assumption in Gaussian splatting, and make multiple Gaussians compete in regions where they overlap using a softmax function, which greatly improves rendering performance when less Gaussians are used, as well as rendering consistency from different viewpoints. Especially, check out our experiments fitting multiple geometric shapes with only 4 Gaussians!

been replaying Halo Wars over the weekend and using it as a good case study for making an RTS camera that can smoothly navigate rugged elevation using an adjustable + simplified proxy grid!

Mallet brings Source 2 map editor tools into Blender.
Hotspot UVs, physics placement, fly camera, scale cage, mirror handle, material manager, AO vertex baking and more.
All built around fast workflows for Source 2, Unreal, and Unity.

Built a Houdini SOP that does Blender's "Minimal Stretch" UV unwrap.
Thought it'd be simple. It wasn't — there are multiple algorithms behind this, each giving a different result.
Implemented all three. Blender's is still the best, but the others slap too.
Working on 3dgs tools for a bit got me thinking that 3d splats might be the wrong primitive for general visualization in standard DCCs
Using my cat as a rubber duck for these deep thoughts lol
We’ve released the official Blender add-on for ZOZO’s Contact Solver, our open-source physics solver developed at ZOZO, Inc. Blender users, please take a look!

Recently remembered about Apple's ML Sharp paper and had an idea that it could be a sweet tool for concept art
Cobbled together a quick demo, you can combine multiple ml sharp splats, edit them, load regular .ply and some dynamic sky and relighting +hue/sat edits
This indie team is making a game where a girl leads her floating village across the ocean after losing her parents
- Herd sea creatures & protect them
- Surf waves with a kite as your sail
- A young fish is your only companion
It's called The Edge of Water. This looks stunning!
Hey all. Got some very exciting news to announce... I am officially collaborating with @InsiderGamingIG and will be helping them with the Insider Gaming Showcase on May 28th!
I'll be showcasing lots of cool indie games here!
