.@GDSTeam The domains user https://t.co/RbT69Ohdra (for example https://t.co/7Trv6qjETA) that redirect to the Archived Registers seem to have disappeared.
Is this a temporary outage?
Thanks!
@simoneverest@GillElderfield@thornburysaint Thanks for everything you've done Simon!
You're one of the last of the of GDS Founders and you've done so much for services across government.
You will be sorely missed but new and exciting things await you (in a good way ;-)) At DCMS.
All the best and hopefully speak soon.
@adrianbowyer @Hellhound604 If the mains fuse blows there's no potential energy left in my house.
With a battery there's still a lot of chemical potential energy so hopefully the fault isn't something that could still activate it (temperature? metal rebar falling down?).
@MarkWheadon @adrianbowyer It's the Ah/g value that matters, not the grammes themselves.
i.e. You get more capacity for the same weight compared to Li-Ion.
Someone just robbed Waitrose whilst I was at the till paying for my lunch.
The cashier raised his eyebrow at the monitor but couldn't do much
There were lots of middle-class cries of "He's stolen the Prosecco" from over by the door.
@amadeuspzs @TheRealRevK I'm unsure tbh. ...or at least no more knowledgable that you!
Are you finding that it's more sensitive to PCB placement than to overall placement of the device in the room?
There's every reason for providers being able to provide energy *cheaper* for prepay customers because they don't have to hedge the markets as much and have more committed buying power that they can plan for.
The promise of smart meters being "cheaper"/"better" is not born out.
Some of us have been predicting the rise of "remote disconnect via smart meter" for some time but this is even more insidious and wrong:
"Rise in energy firms remotely switching homes to prepay meters"
https://t.co/y6RvvXHmMD
Prepay is traditionally more expensive but in this model there's absolutely no reason why it should be.
There's no extra meter to buy & no increase in infrastructure or billing costs for the provider.
...and the provider also has ahead-of-time knowledge of how much energy to buy.
@fanf Re https://t.co/EXk8U3pCD2 do you have a couple of sample outputs (in one of the formats you have) as I'm working on some charting stuff and would love to see how easy it is to get it rendering those histograms.
See https://t.co/EA0pDXFd4t for some histos I've done already.

This original set of woodblocks was destroyed by fire during the Mongol invasions of Korea in 1232, although scattered volumes printed from these blocks still remain - an example printed in the 11th century is shown here. 11/
The Tripitaka Koreana - carved on 81258 woodblocks in the 13th century - is the most successful large data transfer over time yet achieved by humankind. 52 million characters of information, transmitted over nearly 8 centuries with zero data loss - an unequalled achievement. 1/

As apex predators they have high concentrations of toxins in their flesh.
It's far safer to compost them!
