I want Kenyans to understand that what has been removed is the requirement for extra vetting. All Kenyans go through a vetting process when applying for a national identity card, which includes presenting their primary and secondary school documents,

even though they have always been Kenyan citizens. This would mean traveling to Mandera or Wajir just to complete the process, while other Kenyans do not face such an extra burden.
