Yep my friend from India who was struggling to get a pr long before covid was so pissed when he saw people he knew coming in on fake degrees, fake companies, bringing their families over all while he was trying to do it the right way. He was from a small village and he said there was over 120 people that their job was faking degrees or other documents to get them into Canada
@tokifyi That was why I used to run hack nights in Vancouver before the pandemic. We promoted them at a bunch of different meetup groups in tech from vr to software devs. People would come and work on projects, get help with problems, or just chat about tech
I woke up being so excited and then everything I tried was depressing. I had been hyping this release to all my friends for months.
First I wanted to start using Gemini cli. Couldn't use as it requires ultra. I am hesitant about upgrading again after being burned with the 2.5 deep think release. I tried the 3 month ultra sub and never in that time did uploading code folders work (which was what I wanted to use it for). The user experience using gemini cli even after recent updates is not as good as codex or CC.
Next I tried out Antigravity. I wanted to give it a simple refactor task that I was using codex to do yesterday (codex had no issues with this). Had errors on every request in antigravity. After hours of constantly telling it to retry itself I ended up having to back out of every iteration it attempted.
Gave ai studio a shot with generating a few different mock up uis for a feature, personally I didn't notice much of a step up from 2.5.
Still can't use 3.0 on my Pixel in the gemini app.
On the plus side I am using antigravity again now and so far I had it run for about 40min, but still wasn't as thorough as gpt5. (Ripping out Material UI for tailwind in an app).
The google fanboy in me is not dead. I still think google will get agi first. I know things will improve, but it was a sad release for me
@_mohansolo@yacineMTB Tried one prompt to refactor a small folder, with pro high it said I hit the limit before even starting. Then in low it just keeps hitting an error
Same problem as Canada.
Have something that could be cancer and need to see a specialist?
Takes a month to see a family doctor as you need their recommendation (if you already waited the 2-7 years in line to get one or lucked out and your a boomer). Then lets put you on a 8 month waiting list to be eligible to make an appointment, then hope you can book an appointment 6 months after that...
A popular NPM package got compromised, attackers updated it to run a post-install script that steals secrets
But the script is a *prompt* run by the user's installation of Claude Code. This avoids it being detected by tools that analyze code for malware
You just got vibepwned
@OfficialLoganK@GeminiApp Do you know if attaching folders/GitHub repos been fixed yet? It's been broken since launch for me in ultra. Regular 2.5 pro works fine
