@thekookreport When I was deployed in Africa I watched people travel miles just to bathe themselves in dirty river water. These people have nothing. Cell service is scant and only available close to a metro area (such as there are). D2D would solve thousands of necessities for them instantly.

@thekookreport Unironically FB marketplace would be an excellent application for D2D. Imagine how many villages in Africa/low cell coverage areas would benefit from being able to conduct commerce without having to travel a significant distance to bring wares to market.
