So, what does this actually mean for us?
It means we are moving way beyond AI that just helps out with basic coding or drafting emails. We are rapidly approaching a threshold where AI can independently handle the complex, unglamorous engineering and R&D required to upgrade its own architecture.

Instead of humans having to painstakingly design the next generation of models, we could soon just tell an AI to "build a smarter version of yourself," and it will autonomously run the scientific experiments and engineering tasks to make it happen. It’s a self-fueling loop of technological advancement.

This was at Goldman Sachs Recruitment Day in 2019, at Victoria Island, Lagos (similar to Shell's Recruitment Day).

I didn't make the cut then because there were badder guys from UNILAG, OAU and co, who were and are witches and wizards in coding.

Anyway, my team came second overall and I used sweet mouth to present our technical solution.

This was Goldman Sachs o, able to assemble at least 200 bad guys within Lagos (the picture doesn't show the full hall, which is quite sizeable).

But one bros who knows the local ecosystem more than oyinbo said we don't have world-class talent.

Anyway, most people in this picture had sponsored flight and relocation benefits to the UK and other countries shortly after this picture was taken.

However, you still have people like this within Nigeria's shores.

The real issue is that the "500 job openings" at Moniepoint do not exist. It's a popular corporate scam where you constantly recruit without actually hiring anyone, because showing a large number of job vacancies while advertising your aggressive recruitment campaign is a growth metric you display to investors. It shows that the company is "growing fast" which means they should invest more money.

"We can't fill 500 job openings" in an absurdly deep job market like Nigeria is just a fintech bro performing for USD to locate him from whichever venture capital or private equity investor he's targeting. It's the same thing as when an NGO lawyer jumps on every trending human rights case without really achieving anything - it's a performance for the oyibo with USD to reward them.
