@michaelbw1998@OGdukeneurosurg EM is the tip of the spear for the whole medical system, and everyone loves to crap on them. You guys are awesome in my book.
@BrandonLuuMD Study programs for med students is an intensely competitive business. Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that these are way better than the med school lectures, which are often delivered by PhDs and MDs who don't really want to be there and may or may not have really prepared.
@jbcarmody@Innovate_FB It's a good reminder to all of us in practice: BE BETTER THAN THE AI BOT. If we practice the lowest common denominator of medicine, we make the argument for them.
@jbcarmody You make a very scary point; it's not necessarily a question of whether the AI will be better than us. It's how much of our revenue the government and hospital admins will hand over to the AI companies.
@doingthebooing Truly fascinating descent from a once widely respected physician and researcher. I’ll never understand the psychology of someone selling out every last ounce of integrity they have for a tiny amount of fame and power.
@TexasPharmD@verge Illicitly recording a live performance on your phone might be considered stealing, whereas watching with your eyes is not. Is there a difference?
@JimGawne@AshleyGWinter People fail to realize how often a pregnancy related condition is not life threatening because medicine is amazing. When I was working LDR as a lowly med student, I saw many pregnancies that were "routine" by modern standards, but could have been fatal 200 years ago.
@OGdukeneurosurg The Resident was a pretty terrible show by all accounts. However, they did warm my heart when a doctor shouted during a code “asystole! It’s not a shockable rhythm!”.
