@DoctorPerin Holy shit what. In what world does anyone think is this morally justifiable. A good argument can be made for terminal illness, but what message does this send for people who are already hopeless in terms of their mental health? “Yep, your mind is irreparably screwed” go for it.
@ChrisPalmerMD Keto has not been wrongly associated with MAGA. When these people seee keto they see MAGA, which blinds them to the real science. They will therefore now attack keto as a political entity.
@AllenFrancesMD You’re completely politically motivated and you’re using that to disregard genuine and promising science. Your politicall hatred has completely blinded you which is sad. You’re completely misrepresenting Chris and what he teaches
@ChrisPalmerMD@AllenFrancesMD It’s astonishing how people so qualified can be so ignorant of emerging science and research. I assume he thinks it’s medieval quackery to treat epilepsy with keto too. It’s really disheartening to see.
@JonathanShedler Sorry, I mean coherence therapy, which was developed by Bruce Ecker. I he stand your frustration with all these abbreviations and therapies that take from psychodynamic. But I think you might be pleasantly surprised reading some of Bruce’s articles on transformational change.

I’m not sure if psychodynamic therapy is as focused as this. And I’m not sure if it follows what CT claims to be the process that produce lasting change. CT is offering a unifying framework for why transformational change occurs.
@DoctorPerin@sayerjigmi@SeedOilDsrspctr I personally know 3 people who are free of their schizophrenia from following a strict medical keto diet (as used to treat epilepsy. But yes, when they come off that diet it comes straight back. There are many RCTs currently happening around keto and mental health.
@JonathanShedler Hence why I love CT.IMO that’s how transformational change happens. Integrateaccurately)the construct making the symptom or (solution) necessary and then allow prediction error to occur or create it within the therapeutic relationship. I think this works on most, not all symptom
@JonathanShedler “I need to procrastinate because if I don’t I’m trapped and controlled and feel small just, I have no freedom, just like how dad made me feel” - that felt construct was driving the whole show. I think these things can be discovered far quicker than most psychotherapists think.

"We are on the brink of a major breaktheough in psychiatry. One that doesn't just manage illness, but actually heals people from The inside out "
@JonathanShedler thoughts?
@gerardsans@Baddiel You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what consciousness is. There’s no catagory errors in your examples, there is when it comes to atoms vs qualitative experience. There’s first person, qualitative, subjective cannot be reduced to objective, third person quantitative
@worldviewdesign Evidence/truth is very few people’s concern. I would argue there is less than 5 percent who genuinely care. Others are motivated by shame, fear, and a whole host of other unconscious psychological mechanisms. Escaping this is notoriously difficult
@GrantHBrennerMD Knowing how the brain works and knowing how first person phenomenology works and what it is are two very different things, although correlated.
