Today marks the 106th anniversary of the founding of the @IFRC.
The IFRC, formerly called the League of Red Cross Societies, was established in 1919 in Paris at the Regina Hotel by representatives from five founding Red Cross societies ๐ฏ๐ต๐ฌ๐ง๐บ๐ธ ๐ซ๐ท๐ฎ๐น.
For over 100 years, the solidarity and dedication within the IFRC network have been unwavering. Thank you to all our volunteers and our staff for remaining, always, on the side of humanity.
Together, let's continue to pave the way for more compassion for another 106 years and beyond.
The @IFRC is launching an Islamic Philanthropy campaign during Ramadan to raise funds for the people of Syria, where the humanitarian crisis has worsened dramatically.
Did you know that 100 CHF can help sustain a family of five for a week in Syria?
Your donation can make a difference ๐ https://t.co/hRyaIo7A8f
No one should go to bed hungry this Ramadan.
13 million people in Syria donโt know where their next meal is coming from.
The @IFRC and @SYRedCrescent are providing life-saving relief - your Zakat can help.

Reports from @PalestineRCS indicate that all their medical points and emergency clinics in Gaza are out of service. I am
deeply alarmed by this.
The closure of these vital medical facilities exacerbates an already dire healthcare system. These clinics and medical points are often the only lifeline for many civilians, providing essential emergency care and basic health services.
I remind all parties to ensure the protection of healthcare workers and facilities.
In the midst of crises, access to healthcare is not just a necessityโit is a matter of life and death.
In response to @ifrc Emergency Appeal Government of Hungary contributed 530,000 EURO to @RedCrossArmenia to support displaced population and people affected by recent massive floods. We thank @HungaryHelps for this timely support and our fruitful partnership.
This IFRC Annual Report 2023 is an overview of what the IFRC network achieved in support of millions of people, how it worked to improve and modernize its structures and approaches, and how it endeavoured to keep its volunteers and staff safe.
It gives insight into the work done to prevent disasters and to build National Society preparedness and response capacities.
It also shines a light on how the IFRC network supported communities affected by crises that devastated lives without ever making international headlines.
Together with our 191 National Societies, partners & donors, we reached millions of people.
Because the power of local humanitarian action has truly global reach. https://t.co/vD54JhHG3H
