Thrilled to share that 26 of our abstracts were accepted for #SIR2026. I’ll be presenting 13 oral abstracts, 9 posters, and an oral educational exhibit.
Grateful for the incredible mentorship and collaborations that made this possible! #SIR26TOR@SIRspecialists@SIRRFS
I’ll be presenting at the SIR 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting in Toronto from April 11-15! Looking forward to connecting with peers and sharing ideas that move IR forward.

Our meta-analysis compares MWA and RFA for lower limb varicose veins (887 patients).
✅ Similar 1-yr occlusion rates.
✅ Comparable safety & QoL outcomes.
⏱️ RFA may offer slightly shorter operative time/hospital stay.

Largest published cohort study to date on Genicular Artery Embolization #GAE for knee pain from osteoarthritis #irad Great work by our European colleagues.
https://t.co/nQBoorMWBL @SIRRFS
The Washington Post (May 11, 2025) featured GAE (the genicular artery embolization) as a promising, minimally invasive treatment for knee osteoarthritis. GAE targets abnormal vessels caused by chronic inflammation to relieve pain at its source.
Full article in comments.
Achilles tendinopathy unresponsive to PRP improved dramatically after two arterial infusion sessions, with pain decreasing from 8 to 1–2 out of 10, and a return to running. This case highlights the effectiveness of targeting abnormal neovessels with arterial infusion therapy.
Our new paper is now published.
The study provides valuable insights into the safety and efficacy of three short-dissolution embolic materials for transcatheter arterial microembolization or MSK embolization in patients with degenerative, inflammatory, and overuse joint disorders
#Y90 radiation segmentectomy is now a recommended ablative modality by the AASLD for unresectable BCLC A #HCC or as a bridge to transplant. https://t.co/fGWmBmsk7K
Post local therapy complete pathologic necrosis (CPN) of tumor has been associated with significantly improved post liver transplant recurrence and survival. https://t.co/agXxlbPOoJ
We report an updated and comprehensive Y90 glass microsphere analysis for optimizing CPN prior to liver transplant.
https://t.co/kF56X8P4Wm
CPN was predicted by the following:
Single compartment ≥ 439 Gy
Multi compartment: Tumor ≥ 844 Gy
Hepatic margin ≥ 420 Gy.
Voxel D100 ≥ 69Gy
Specific activity (SA) ≥ 570 Bq
Particle density (PD) ≥ 11.4 × 103/ml improved CPN probability in tumors treated with SA < 570 Bq.
Both single-compartment and multi-compartment dosimetry had equivalent performance when optimized per the identified thresholds.
88% of tumors that were treated within all identified thresholds achieved CPN, compared to 0% of those which did not. 🧩
