Hurricane Beryl caused extensive damage to Bluebonnet’s electric system today. More than 450 men and women worked to restore power to the thousands of members affected by today’s outages. Most outages were caused by tree limbs and power lines knocked down by high winds, with gusts exceeding 40 mph. We will continue to work through the night until power has been restored to all members. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during these lengthy outages.

UPDATE: At 6 a.m. more than 100 crews, with nearly 300 lineworkers and tree trimmers worked through the night to repair damage and restore your power. By 7 a.m. we’ll have an additional 90 crews with 270 lineworkers and tree trimmers working through today. Repairs to downed power lines and broken poles are the most time-consuming and labor-intensive. We will work around the clock until everyone’s power is back on. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support while we work as quickly and safely as possible.

The Texas State side of SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium was out of beer with 12 minutes left in the 2Q of the First Responder Bowl. Once halftime hit, the Bobcat faithful had ransacked Rice's side of the stadium. There wasn't a drop of booze on the premises 5 minutes into the 3Q.
